Promoting the application and development of information technology.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 9th, the Ministry of Information and Communications, in coordination with the Central Propaganda Department, organized a nationwide online conference to disseminate and thoroughly understand Resolution No. 36/NQ-TW dated July 1st, 2014 of the Politburo on promoting the application and development of information technology to meet the requirements of sustainable development and international integration.

Comrades Nguyen Bac Son - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Minister of Information and Communications; and Bui The Duc - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, chaired the conference. At the Nghe An branch, Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien - Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders of provincial departments and agencies were present.

Overview of the online conference

In his opening remarks at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Bac Son emphasized that information technology (IT) has been spreading strongly in all areas of social life, impacting every individual and organization; becoming an economic and technical sector that plays an important role in the socio-economic development, national defense and security of the country and each locality. Vietnam's position in the IT sector on the international stage has been enhanced. He also affirmed that the Politburo's issuance of Resolution No. 36/NQ-TW dated July 1, 2014, further confirms the Party's attention to the IT sector, affirming its position and role; this is an important prerequisite, creating new opportunities for the IT industry to develop more strongly in the future. To put the Resolution into practice, he proposed that the conference thoroughly study and understand Resolution 36; and focus on discussing the Government's action program to implement the Resolution in the right direction. Agencies and units from the central to local levels need to thoroughly understand and develop action programs and plans to implement the Resolution; pay attention to incorporating the Resolution into the programs, plans, and projects of agencies and units from the central to local levels, and include it in the documents of Party congresses at all levels…

At the conference, Comrade Bui The Duc – Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department – ​​directly disseminated the Resolution, which clearly outlined the ideology, viewpoints, objectives, and understanding of the application and development of information technology in accordance with the spirit of Resolution 36-NQ/TW. Following this, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Minh Hong presented the main tasks and solutions for the application and development of information technology in accordance with the spirit of Resolution 36 and the draft action program of the Government to implement the Resolution.
