(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of August 22, the Ministry of Education and Training coordinated with the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Education to organize a conference to promote the building of school culture.

Chairing the conference at the main bridge in Hanoi were comrade Tran Thanh Man - Politburo member, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; comrades who are members of the Party Central Committee: Nguyen Dac Vinh - Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture and Education; Nguyen Kim Son - Minister of Education and Training.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son affirmed that culture in general and school culture in particular are issues that have always received attention and direction from the Party, National Assembly and Government.

Positive changes in the work of building school culture in recent times have been clearly affirmed in many documents of the Prime Minister such as: Decision No. 1299/QD-TTg dated October 3, 2018 of the Prime Minister promulgating the Project "Building a culture of behavior in schools for the period 2018-2025", Decision No. 1895/QD-TTg dated November 11, 2021 of the Prime Minister promulgating the Program "Strengthening education on revolutionary ideals, ethics, lifestyle and arousing aspirations for youth, teenagers and children for the period 2021-2030". These are important decisions to successfully implement Resolution 29 of the Party on fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training, Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party.

In recent years, the work of educating the young generation about revolutionary ideals, culture, ethics, lifestyle, patriotism, and national pride has always been of interest to the Party, the State, all levels, sectors, schools, and society. Thanks to that, many positive changes have been created, creating trust in society about the quality of education, nurturing talents, contributing to training generations of good citizens with qualities, abilities, ethics, and culture to meet the requirements of society.

Most recently, on June 1, 2022, the Ministry of Education and Training proposed that the Prime Minister sign and issue Directive No. 08/CT-TTg on strengthening the implementation of school culture building. The Directive is the basis and basis for creating positive changes in school culture in the coming time.

At the conference, Ms. Doan Thi Thuy Chung - teacher of Huynh Thuc Khang High School (Vinh City) also gave a speech on the task of building school culture for officials and teachers of Nghe An Education sector in the context of education and training. In which, she emphasized 5 solutions: raising awareness for officials, teachers, staff and students about the importance of implementing comprehensive fundamental innovation in education and training and building school culture.

In addition, it is necessary to focus on building and perfecting facilities, teaching equipment, cultural institutions, etc. to create the best conditions for students to study, practice, and comprehensively develop their own abilities; innovate management work, strengthen education on law, ethics, lifestyle, and life skills for students; promote innovation in teaching and education methods towards developing learners' qualities and abilities and organize emulation movements in schools, etc.


Speaking at the conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man affirmed: School culture is the foundation to promote and improve the quality of education, develop human resources, for the development of culture and people, meeting the increasingly high requirements of innovation and international integration. Building school culture is an important content to carry out fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly also acknowledged and highly appreciated the Ministry of Education and Training's determination that school culture is an important environment for personality training and educating the young generation to develop comprehensively in morality, intelligence, physical fitness and aesthetics. Thanks to that, 100% of educational institutions have developed plans and implemented the development of a Code of Conduct. The integration of school culture education into the official education program is gradually becoming appropriate and effective.

In the coming time, to effectively carry out the work of building school culture, comrade Tran Thanh Man suggested that Party committees, authorities at all levels and the entire education sector need to continue to thoroughly grasp and deeply understand the significance and important role of building school culture and persistently organize implementation, striving to achieve the set goals.

At the same time, perfect legal regulations; promptly adjust, supplement, and perfect the system of directives, management documents, regulations, and instructions related to building school culture. In the implementation process, it is necessary to link the building and implementation of school culture with fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education; Develop a set of criteria for a green, clean, disciplined, safe, healthy, and friendly school cultural environment. Take people as the center, prioritize nurturing patriotism, honesty, and proactive, creative spirit, promote self-study capacity, self-control, self-respect, self-responsibility, train courage, critical thinking, and scientific working style.

In addition, it is necessary to mobilize investment resources to complete and ensure cultural institutions in schools such as libraries, cultural houses, stadiums, etc.; strengthen infrastructure conditions, facilities, and update school construction standards to ensure ecology suitable for the educational environment.
