Boosting labor export in Tuong Duong

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 9th, the Monitoring Delegation of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council, led by Mr. Moong Van Hoi, Head of the Ethnic Affairs Committee, worked with Tam Quang commune, Tuong Duong district, on the implementation of Decision 71/2009/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister approving the project "Supporting poor districts to promote labor export to contribute to sustainable poverty reduction in the period 2009-2020" in the province.

A general overview of the working session.

From 2010 to 2014, Tam Quang commune mobilized and organized for 57 people to participate in overseas labor export, including 4 people who went under the Prime Minister's Decision No. 71/2009/QD-TTg.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Moong Van Hoi acknowledged some of the achievements of the Commune People's Committee in the past period, while emphasizing several key issues for the future, such as coordinating propaganda among organizations within the political system to encourage unemployed working-age people who meet the eligibility criteria to participate in overseas labor export programs under the preferential policies in Decision 71; clearly outlining the advantageous policies that workers will benefit from, especially the low interest rate of only 0.3% for loans from the Social Policy Bank and simplified procedures; reviewing the number of underemployed workers in the commune to encourage them to participate in overseas labor export; and including in the Party Committee's Resolution the target of job creation through overseas labor export for the 2015-2020 term.

Regarding the commune's proposals, the monitoring team accepted them and will recommend that the competent authorities address them, such as: expanding the number of businesses participating in the implementation of Decision 71, reducing interest rates on loans for near-poor households participating in overseas labor export, etc.
