Vocational training goes hand in hand with human training

(Baonghean) - Born in 1963, Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor CK II, Senior Lecturer Cao Truong Sinh is currently Vice Principal, Head of the General Clinic specializing in Internal Medicine - Cardiology, Vinh Medical University. In 2010, he was awarded the title of Excellent Teacher. Living simply and being an exemplary person is what colleagues, friends, and students think of him.

We met Associate Professor Dr. Cao Truong Sinh after stressful working hours at school and at the clinic, but it seems that the harder he works, the more he loves his job and worries about his career as a "doctor must be like a mother".

And then, over a cup of hot tea in the office at Vinh Medical University, we heard and understood about the sacrifice of a profession that society highly respects, and understood more about his path to the title of Excellent Teacher.

Distinguished teacher Cao Truong Sinh shared: “As a member of the Southeast Asian and American Cardiology Associations, a member of the World Hypertension Association, participating in teaching a number of subjects such as Internal Medicine - Cardiology, Clinical Pharmacy in the Faculty of Pharmacy and Anatomy in the Faculty of Basic Medicine, I arrange my time reasonably to both do training management work and excellently complete the tasks of a lecturer. For many consecutive years, I have completed and exceeded the assigned theoretical and clinical teaching hours according to the standards of a main lecturer. In teaching, I always innovate methods, apply active and effective teaching methods, taking students as the center to arouse their positivity, and always pay attention to helping weak students to improve; always apply two parallel methods of vocational teaching along with teaching people, both professional and medical ethics in the educational motto".

It is known that Associate Professor, Dr. Cao Truong Sinh has participated and made many contributions in training and scientific research at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, contributing to the construction and development of the Internal Medicine - Cardiology major of the Department of Clinical Medicine, the Pediatric Cardiology major at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital as well as Vinh Medical University.

In particular, he has compiled teaching materials and monographs for district and commune level general practitioners and medical students. There have been many innovations in teaching such as implementing active teaching methods in schools and evaluating by objective tests, innovating programs, training organization methods, innovating scientific research and implementing new teaching methods such as e-learning, clinical teaching and management, and computer-based multiple choice testing.

Directly teaching and guiding the school's lecturers on active teaching methods and guiding the compilation of objective test questions and teaching materials, he directed the compilation and appraisal of 28 objective test sets and more than 70 teaching materials; 8 initiatives and scientific research topics were classified as excellent.

Among those initiatives and scientific research topics, there have been applied topics such as Application of information technology in medical examination and treatment combined with teaching at Nghe An Medical College, application period: From 2009 to present at Vinh Medical University General Clinic; Research to propose some solutions to prevent and treat autism in children under 6 years old in Nghe An, applied from 2011 to present at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital and 7 districts and cities of Nghe An province; Some solutions to detect early and treat autism disorders in children in Nghe An, applied from 2013 at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital and urban districts in Nghe An; Study on blood pressure characteristics in the elderly with primary hypertension by 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, applied from 2009 to present at Vinh Medical University General Clinic; Initial evaluation of the effects of Alasta on patients with osteoporosis, applied from 2012 to present at Vinh Medical University Clinic; Study of ankle-brachial index, pulse wave velocity in patients with primary hypertension using VP Plus machine at Vinh Medical University Clinic, from 2014 to present; Study of blood pressure changes and treatment effectiveness of lercanidipine in patients with cerebral infarction with hypertension by 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring - Applied from 2009 to present at the Department of Neurology, Nghe An General Hospital and Vinh Medical University Clinic.
