Expedite land clearance for the National Highway 1A upgrade and expansion project.

(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, April 1st, the Provincial People's Committee held a working session with relevant departments, agencies, and contractors regarding the progress of land clearance for the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 1A passing through Nghe An province. Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired the meeting.

The project to upgrade and expand National Highway 1A through Nghe An province has a total main route length of 73.8km, passing through the districts and cities of Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Nghi Loc, and Vinh City. The route is divided into 5 sub-projects with 4 contractors. The total estimated cost for land acquisition and compensation for the entire route is 1,076 billion VND. Regarding land acquisition and compensation, the project management board has so far approved the land survey and mapping documents for nearly 70km (reaching 97% of the plan); inventoried 67.4km, applied compensation rates for nearly 61km… and handed over 42.7km of land to the contractors.

However, the project is currently facing some difficulties and obstacles in the compensation and land clearance process for some households in Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, and especially Nghi Loc; the resettlement work is also progressing slowly… To ensure the project's progress, the Provincial People's Committee and relevant levels and sectors are focusing on resolving obstacles in land clearance and handing over the land to the contractor as soon as possible.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, stated: The upgrading and expansion of National Highway 1A is a key national project, therefore, land clearance work needs to be completed decisively to accelerate construction progress. To effectively carry out this work, the province will reorganize the Steering Committee for Compensation and Land Clearance and propose timely and appropriate solutions to resolve obstacles and difficulties in the project implementation process. For the districts, coordination with the Project Management Board and relevant departments and agencies is necessary to focus on effectively carrying out land clearance work and accelerating the construction of resettlement areas. Contractors need to concentrate resources, equipment, and personnel on construction to ensure progress, quality, and safety…
