Accelerate the implementation of the project to reform the salary policy of the armed forces
(Baonghean.vn) - On June 22, Information Brigade 80, Military Region 4 held a Conference to review the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army in 1999, amending and supplementing a number of articles in 2008 and 2014.
Major General Trinh Van Hung - Standing Member of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of the Military Region attended and gave a speech; also attending were representatives of the Personnel Department and Organization Department of the Military Region. Senior Lieutenant Colonel Tran Hoai Nam, Party Committee Secretary, Political Commissar of the 80th Information Brigade chaired the conference.

The report at the conference affirmed: From 1999 to 2023, thoroughly grasping and implementing the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army in 1999, amended and supplemented in 2008 and 2014, the Brigade Party Committee has had many policies and measures to lead and direct the implementation, contributing to building a contingent of officers in the Brigade that meets the requirements of force organization and building and the political tasks of the Brigade; the structure of the contingent of officers is increasingly balanced, the quality of the contingent of officers is improved. Strictly comply with principles, procedures, regulations, improve the quality and effectiveness of the implementation of the Law, meet the requirements of the Brigade's tasks in the new period.

The conference discussed and clarified the achievements, difficulties, obstacles and shortcomings in implementing the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army and the reality in the unit. At the same time, it proposed and recommended that competent authorities study and have better solutions on housing and land policies for officers; should specify the Law in supporting monthly rent for active officers according to each subject, ensuring fairness and commensurate with dedication; promptly remove housing difficulties so that officers can stabilize their lives and work with peace of mind.
Proposal to supplement and amend regulations on increasing retirement age forofficerholding the rank of lieutenant colonel or lower, so as not to affect the right to social insurance benefits upon retirement; increase the age for training at academies and schools for officers in military units. It is necessary to accelerate the implementation of the project to reform the salary policy of the armed forces (according to Resolution No. 27-NQ/TW dated May 21, 2018 of the Central Committee), creating favorable conditions for officers to feel secure in their work and serve long-term in the Army.

Speaking at the conference, Major General Trinh Van Hung - Standing Member of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of the Military Region acknowledged and commended the results achieved in implementing the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army of the Brigade.
The Political Commissar of the Military Region also noted that in the coming time, in order to effectively implement the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army, the Brigade Party Committee needs to continue to thoroughly grasp and concretize the Law on Officers and other documents of the above in line with the practical conditions of the unit. Synchronously and comprehensively deploy the contents of personnel work, focusing on building a contingent of cadres, especially cadres in charge with good capacity, professional qualifications, moral qualities, clean and healthy lifestyle, meeting the requirements of assigned tasks.
