Expedite the progress of the Hoang Mai 2 Cement Project.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 17th, Mr. Ho Duc Phoc, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, held a working session with Vicem Hoang Mai Cement Joint Stock Company regarding the Hoang Mai 2 cement project. Also attending the meeting were: Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders of various departments and agencies.

Representing Vicem Hoang Mai Cement Company were: Mr. Ta Quang Buu – Chairman of the Board of Directors; and Mr. Duong Dinh Hoi – General Director of Vicem Hoang Mai Cement Joint Stock Company.

Overview of the working session

According to the plan, the Hoang Mai 2 cement plant project has a phase 1 capacity of 6,000 tons of clinker per day, equivalent to 1,920,000 tons of clinker. Of this, 1,000,000 tons of clinker will be exported, and 920,000 tons of clinker will be used for cement grinding, equivalent to 1,150,000 tons of cement per year. After conducting surveys and analyses, the investor proposed three options for locating the plant.

Accordingly, in the first option, the Vicem Hoang Mai 2 cement plant would be located on vacant land within the factory fence to the west of the current Line 1, approximately 12 km east of the Dong Hoi port area and 14 km west of the Bac Thang limestone quarry along the Thai Hoa – Dong Hoi road, in Quynh Vinh commune, Quynh Luu district. In the second option, the plant would be located on the hill southeast of the Da Bac clay mine, close to the Nghi Son – Nghia Binh – Thai Hoa road, approximately 1 km from the Bac Thang limestone quarry and approximately 25 km east of the Dong Hoi port area along the Thai Hoa – Dong Hoi road, in Tan Thang commune, Quynh Luu district. In the third option, the entire production line would be located in Dong Hoi near Vicem's non-fired building materials plant.

At the meeting, after hearing the consulting unit present the options for locating the Vicem Hoang Mai 2 cement plant, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of departments and agencies discussed and analyzed the transportation infrastructure conditions of the area, the availability of input materials, the demand and conditions for electricity and water supply, some factors related to environmental impact, relocation of residential areas, etc.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - acknowledged the interest in investing in the expansion project of Hoang Mai Cement Plant and affirmed that the province would support the investment plan for the construction of the second production line. He also requested the investor to carefully consider and choose a suitable location for the plant and to promptly implement the project.
