Speeding up the progress of Hoang Mai 2 Cement Project

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 17, comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee had a working session with Vicem Hoang Mai Cement Joint Stock Company on the Hoang Mai 2 Cement project. Also attending the working session were comrades: Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of departments and branches.

On the side of Vicem Hoang Mai Cement Company, there were comrades: Ta Quang Buu - Chairman of the Board of Directors; Duong Dinh Hoi - General Director of Vicem Hoang Mai Cement Joint Stock Company.

Overview of the working session

According to the plan, the Hoang Mai 2 cement factory project has a phase 1 capacity of 6,000 tons of clinker/day, equivalent to 1,920,000 tons of clinker. Of which, the amount of clinker for export is 1,000,000 tons, the amount of clinker for cement grinding is 920,000 tons, equivalent to 1,150,000 tons of cement/year. After conducting surveys and analysis, the investor proposed 3 options for the factory location.

Accordingly, in the first option, Vicem Hoang Mai 2 Cement Factory will be located on an empty land within the factory fence to the west of the current line 1, about 12 km east of Dong Hoi port area, about 14 km west of Bac Thang limestone mine along Thai Hoa - Dong Hoi road, in Quynh Vinh commune, Quynh Luu. Option 2, the factory will be located in the Southeast hill of Da Bac clay mine, close to Nghi Son - Nghia Binh - Thai Hoa road, about 1 km from Bac Thang limestone mine and about 25 km east of Dong Hoi port area along Thai Hoa - Dong Hoi road, in Tan Thang commune, Quynh Luu. Option 3, the entire production line will be located in Dong Hoi near Vicem's Unburnt Construction Materials factory.

At the meeting, after listening to the consulting unit propose options for the location of Vicem Hoang Mai 2 cement factory, comrades Nguyen Xuan Duong - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of departments and branches discussed and analyzed the traffic infrastructure conditions of the area, the ability to supply input materials, the demand and conditions for electricity and water supply, some factors related to environmental impacts, relocation of residential areas...

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee acknowledged the interest in investing in the construction of the Hoang Mai Cement Factory expansion project and affirmed that the province will support the investment plan to build the second production line project, and at the same time request the investor to calculate and consider choosing a suitable factory location and soon implement the project.
