This important project is being undertaken by four construction units, three of which belong to the General Construction Corporation of Transport Works 4: Construction Company 422 is responsible for the main bridge, while Construction Company 475 and Construction Company 496 are responsible for the Su Nu bridge, access roads, and approach roads. From the moment they took on this project, the construction units were determined to complete it ahead of schedule, mobilizing four pile foundation construction lines, four lines for the main structure, foundation, and piers, along with a concentration of various types of heavy machinery and equipment such as excavators, rollers, and cranes.
Construction Company 422 is responsible for the construction of the main bridge, the most important part of the project. Along with specialized equipment, the company has also mobilized 4 cranes with capacities of 50-70 tons and 150 technical staff and workers working 24/7. Mr. Dang Minh Hong, Director of Construction Company 422, said: “Thanks to the application of new scientific and technological advancements and modern equipment and machinery in bridge construction, the company has always exceeded the set plan. To date, the unit has completed the construction of 70 bored piles (43-45 m deep), and has basically completed the bridge body, foundation, piers, and 2 abutments on the right side of the bridge. Currently, 40 I-beams, each 33 m long, have been cast; 6 out of 11 bridge spans have been completed. With the timely attention, support, and investment of the General Construction Corporation of Transport Works 4 and the efforts of the staff and workers on the construction site, on June 10th, the launching of girders for 5 spans was carried out. This result is one of the important conditions to accelerate the completion of other items to ensure technical traffic opening on June 30th.”
Surveys indicate that the volume of motorized road vehicles on this route is approximately 2,000 vehicles per day. With such a large volume, ensuring smooth traffic flow while construction is underway is extremely difficult and complex. Therefore, the construction units have coordinated with relevant authorities and agencies to rationally reroute passenger and heavy transport vehicles, create alternative routes for other vehicles, and deploy additional personnel to guide traffic, preventing congestion during peak hours. Recognizing the importance of this project, which is situated in a very limited construction area and requires rapid progress, the project management board and construction units have collaborated to develop a highly effective implementation plan.
This involves the rational arrangement of production lines and machinery, and the synchronized and scientific organization of construction teams across all categories, while strictly adhering to regulations on progress and safety in production. Mr. Nguyen Phi Hung, Team Leader of the workers' team at Construction Company 422, said: “During hot days, we arrange shifts appropriately: Shift 1 starts from 5:30 AM to 10:00 AM, Shift 2 from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM, and Shift 3 from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM. This working schedule helps workers maximize productivity and avoid the heat. During this peak construction period, in addition to being guaranteed benefits and policies, the General Corporation and the Company also provide timely rewards for workers who achieve high work performance and production targets… so they are very enthusiastic and dedicated.” job".
The project to build an overpass between the North-South railway and National Highway 46 in Cua Nam ward, Vinh City, held its groundbreaking ceremony on February 15th. Technical testing is scheduled for June 30th, and the official opening to traffic is expected on October 30th. With this progress, this important project will be completed in only half the planned time. This event not only ensures traffic safety on both the road and railway lines but also helps the Construction Corporation No. 4 achieve economic efficiency.
