According to Mr. Lam, this year the rice yield is high, averaging over 3 quintals/sao. The traffic system in the commune has been "hardened" so it is easy to bring machines down to harvest for the people. Especially with large fields planned at 3-5 sao/plot, the harvester is very fast, according to the harvester owners, each day harvests from 30 - 40 sao of rice/machine.
Mr. Nguyen Tho Tuy - Chairman of Nhan Thanh Commune People's Committee said: This summer-autumn crop, the commune planted more than 500 hectares of rice, of which 100% of the area was flooded when it rained heavily. To cope with the situation of rice flooding, from the beginning of the crop, the commune directed people to plant 5-7 days earlier than the district's general schedule. Short-term rice varieties were planted. People focused on harvesting early to avoid damage due to flooding. Since August 25, people have harvested more than 15% of the area. Currently, the commune has more than 25 combine harvesters, and it is expected that by September 10, the whole commune will finish harvesting. The estimated yield is from 57-58 quintals/ha.
