Speaking at the hall, delegate Dinh Thi Kieu Trinh, Nghe An delegation said, basically agree with the policy of amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Physical Education and Sports.
However, according to the delegate from Nghe An delegation, the regulationRegarding the regime and policies for high-performance athletes: at Point h, Clause 1, Article 32, "athletes who are no longer able to compete in sports will be provided with conditions by the State to learn a trade and find employment according to the provisions of law". Meanwhile, the provision assigned to the Government does not include this content.
"Such regulations do not clearly indicate whether there will be specific policies for high-performance athletes or whether athletes will be subject to labor and employment policies according to current regulations. Therefore, it is recommended to review and strictly regulate this for easy implementation in practice," said delegate Kieu Trinh.
The delegates also completely agreed with the provisions in Point I, Clause 1, Article 32: "In case a national team athlete has an accident during training or sports competition that causes loss of working capacity or death, the athlete and their relatives shall receive a subsidy regime."
However, according to this delegate, it is necessary to add provincial team athletes as beneficiaries of the subsidy regime, because they are the core force of the local sports movement, and at the same time, they are also the source to discover and select athletes for the national team.
"Only then can we ensure fairness, create conditions for athletes to confidently contribute, demonstrate their talents, and overcome difficulties in life after having an accident during training and sports competitions," said delegate Kieu Trinh.
