TAKE CARE OF EVERY MEAL AND SLEEP

Since Directive 16 was applied in many localities in the province, many businesses have arranged for workers to implement "3 on-site" to both maintain production activities and ensure safety for businesses and workers. Although the rate of workers going to work at this time is not high, the work of preparing and caring for workers in the context of the epidemic still faces many difficulties.

Just a moment ago, during the time Hung Nguyen district implemented Directive 16, the Hung Nguyen district Labor Federation and the Dong Nam Economic Zone Trade Union went to Luxshare-ICT Co., Ltd. in VSIP Industrial Park to propagate and encourage workers to implement '3 on-site' at the enterprise to ensure epidemic prevention and stable production.

Joining the inspection team, Ms. Mai Huong (Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union) confided: “These days, the spirit of fighting the epidemic in large enterprises is extremely tense, and grassroots union officials at these enterprises are working extremely hard to prepare for "3 on-site". Even in units with fully equipped dormitories like Luxshare-ICT Co., Ltd., union officials still have to worry about many things. They have to take on professional work, take on the role of a Covid-19 prevention team, mobilize workers to stay, and worry about food and accommodation for workers".

In addition to businesses that have facilities available to apply 3 on-site for workers, many businesses have to urgently prepare facilities in a short time. At An Hung Group Joint Stock Company (Yen Thanh), the company had to arrange official housing for staff and design additional functional rooms to ensure resting places for 250 workers. Mr. Dang Viet Dung - Chairman of the company's union said: "Because of the prior calculation, the company promptly installed electricity and water equipment to ensure the living conditions of workers. However, our biggest difficulty is having to find and buy a large number of essential items when Directive 16 has been applied, many shops and suppliers have closed".

Before the decision to arrange for a part of the workers to do 3 on-site at the factory, Mr. Nguyen Van Can, Chairman of the Trade Union of IMS Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Emtech) shared: "In addition to providing tents, blankets, and paying attention to the quality of 3 daily meals, we also pay close attention to the hygiene and bathing areas and always have to promptly grasp the wishes of the workers."

With its own industry characteristics, Nghe An Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company has assigned 200 of its workers to perform "3 on-site" at the company and at the remote locations of wards and communes to ensure regular garbage collection in the city. Compared to the first "3 on-site" implementation, this time the company's workers have a much harder time. "One of the biggest difficulties for workers is finding stable accommodation. Because this time the number of F0 cases is large,blockadeapplied on a large scale, so many times workers in some groups had to carry their belongings and move to new accommodation at night to get out of the area where the ropes were strung. Last time, workers received a lot of support and sharing from benefactors, but this time, the situation is more complicated and difficult, so the company and the union have to make more efforts toshare with workers" - Ms. Le Hong Ky, Chairman of the company's union said.

SHARING WITH BUSINESSES AND WORKERS

As soon as the number of units implementing "3 on-site" labor, Vinh City Labor Federation visited, presented gifts, and encouraged 900 workers at 5 enterprises in the city that are implementing the "3 on-site" plan. Sharing the shortages during the period of social distancing, Vinh City Labor Federation gave the units necessities such as vegetables, drinking water, medical masks, etc. with a total amount of nearly 30 million VND. Sharing about this activity, Chairman of Vinh City Labor Federation Thai Le Cuong said: "Our top concern is that the units must implement good epidemic prevention measures, ensure safety for workers, and ensure living and accommodation for workers. Only then can we effectively implement the "dual" goal of both preventing the epidemic and developing production, contributing positively to socio-economic development."

Up to now, Dien Chau district also has 5 enterprises implementing "3 on-site" to maintain the production chain as planned. To support enterprises in taking care of "3 on-site" workers, in recent days, Dien Chau District Labor Federation has supported instant noodles, fresh milk, candy, drinking water, and antiseptic water for 291 workers with a total amount of nearly 30 million VND. Working with units, the leaders of the district Labor Federation urged and reminded leaders of units to strengthen propaganda work among workers, strengthen coordination with local authorities in updating information on the Covid-19 situation in the area and the company's production schedule to manage workers, continue to promote the role of "Covid safety team", strictly implement the regulation "one route, two destinations", and implement the regime for workers according to regulations, especially those who are temporarily out of work due to the Covid-19 epidemic.

As one of the special units that have to implement 3 on-site at many facilities, 51 employees of Thanh Chuong Irrigation Company Limited have received attention from the Thanh Chuong District Labor Federation during these days of social distancing. Mr. Thai Dang Phuong - Chairman of the Company's Union confided: "Receiving the support of the higher-level union during these difficult days makes us really feel warm. The epidemic situation is still complicated, we are all aware of the situation and encourage each other to both fight the epidemic and produce." This is also the sharing of union members of An Hung Group Joint Stock Company when receiving timely attention and support from the Yen Thanh District Labor Federation.

Playing a key role in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, most union members and workers in the health sector have had to adapt to “3 on-site” for a long time. Sharing the difficulties of workers, the industry’s union recently visited and presented gifts to two units: Nghe An Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Joint Stock Company and Vinh International Hospital Joint Stock Company.

“Through inspection, in general, the units have developed scenarios and response plans for 4 levels of the epidemic, carried out well the propaganda work to implement the 5K recommendations, organized vaccination for employees, organized PCR tests to implement the “3 on-site” model, arranged meals, accommodation, and work on-site to avoid community infection... In addition, the Trade Unions also recommended that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor support meals for union members and workers who are implementing “3 on-site” for Enterprises where the headquarters are located and must implement Directive 16/CT-CP" - Chairman of the Industry Trade Union Pham Quoc Duong said.
