To ensure that President Ho Chi Minh's hometown district develops to its full potential and sustainably.
(Baonghean) - For Nam Dan to develop, it is necessary to change mindsets and visions to create breakthroughs in tourism development; at the same time, mechanisms and institutions are needed to change the "level" of Nam Dan, emphasized Dr. Tran Dinh Thien - Director of the Vietnam Institute of Economics.
Nam Dan is the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh, but the concern of the Party Committee, government, and people of Nghe An is that Nam Dan's development has not yet lived up to its potential and advantages.
Tourism is a strength, a unique and exclusive advantage of Nam Dan, because it is the birthplace of a world historical figure: President Ho Chi Minh. However, the Kim Lien Historical Site is currently just a sightseeing destination, not a tourist destination. Therefore, Nam Dan must portray itself as a modern, high-class Nam Dan, with high-end tourism as the cornerstone and leading sector in the local development.
In particular, Nam Dan's most important goal is to become a national tourism center; using tourism as the "soul" so that other sectors and activities must serve it and develop towards that goal. For example, agriculture must focus on specialty products, and industry must aim for high technology.
At the same time, developing tourism towards high-class standards requires a service system that the local government is capable of meeting. Furthermore, Nam Dan's tourism must be closely and directly linked to the routes connecting Vinh City, Cua Lo, and other localities.

Along with developing Nam Dan into a high-class national tourism center, the cultivation of culturally rich people is an extremely important factor. Let me say this: Uncle Ho was the only person who managed to attract the whole world to a nation, making the whole world know and love the Vietnamese people. At the same time, he was the one who brought Vietnam to the world. This is the core point. Now that Uncle Ho has passed away, we must follow his spirit and attract international tourists to Nam Dan, to Nghe An, and to Vietnam.
To achieve that, we must cultivate the character and culture of the people of Nam Dan so that when people come to Lang Sen and Hoang Tru, they can feel the unique and distinct features that cannot be confused with other villages. Kim Lien is the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh, the brilliant leader of the nation and an outstanding world cultural figure. Since Uncle Ho is a sacred figure, Kim Lien must be a "sacred land" that attracts visitors.
A crucial task in developing Nam Dan into a high-class national tourism center is to effectively plan and, at the same time, to inspect and monitor the process to prevent short-term gains from disrupting the plan. Maintaining the plan is extremely difficult. Therefore, who will implement the plan? This requires Nam Dan to create an attractive environment to attract leading businesses, providing the impetus and foundation for achieving the goal of developing Nam Dan into a national tourism center.

At the same time, to develop tourism, Nam Dan needs to adhere to the conclusions of Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue regarding the planning project for the Nam Dan National Tourist Area. A favorable factor for Nam Dan is that the conclusion of Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue emphasizes the planning of the Nam Dan National Tourist Area to attract investment in tourism development, guiding the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the province to develop a project for submission to the Prime Minister for approval. This serves as a suggestion for Nghe An province to develop a national-level project on developing Nam Dan into a national tourism center.
I believe that the issuance of a separate resolution by the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee for Nam Dan, providing direction for its development, is essential. This serves as a foundation and driving force for the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh to develop to its full potential and sustainably.
