As one of the key tourist wards of Cua Lo Town, Thu Thuy Ward currently has 120 hotels, motels, 1 massage parlor, along with hundreds of photographers, electric car businesses... operating regularly throughout the tourist season. How to minimize the situation of soliciting customers causing disorder and insecurity along the beach managed by the ward and at accommodation establishments is a concern of the ward police leaders every tourist season.

Mr. Tran Huu Mai - Head of Thu Thuy Ward Police, said: In 2013, business households in the ward decided to establish a "Safe Business Group". This is a voluntary activity and has received the agreement and positive response from hundreds of business households along the beach in the ward. Up to now, the whole ward has established 6 "Safe Business" groups, each group attracts 10 - 15 households to participate. Periodically, before each tourist season, the groups will meet to listen to the group leader specifically explain the rules and regulations of the town and the ward. At the same time, evaluate and review the shortcomings in the 2013 tourist season to gain experience for the 2014 tourist season. Also at the meeting, any business households that still have problems that need to be resolved and expressed will be brought up for discussion to find a common voice.

Following Mr. Tran Huu Mai, we went to Mr. Nguyen Van Tam's restaurant in Block 2, Thu Thuy Ward, right next to Lan Chau Island. Mr. Tam is over 70 years old this year, and he is the leader of the "Safe Business Group" No. 1. Very openly, Mr. Tam told us about the effectiveness since the establishment of the "Safe Business Group" which has brought to his family and the members of the group. That is to completely end the situation of soliciting customers between restaurants on the same road. For example, his "Safe Business Group" No. 1 consists of 14 restaurants next to each other along Lan Chau beach. Before joining the "Safe Business Group", almost all restaurant owners solicited customers on their own, sometimes customers intended to go to his restaurant but were lured by their neighbors to their restaurants, which led to conflicts in business, and many unfortunate incidents occurred, affecting the tourism business environment of the town. Since the establishment of the “Safe Business Group”, the neighborhood relationship between business households has become stronger. The good news is that the situation of pulling customers from one restaurant to another has completely ended…”.

In preparation for the 2014 tourist season, the "Safe Business Groups" of Thu Thuy Ward have held meetings and proposed solutions to overcome the situation of soliciting customers, dumping prices on seafood products, posting prices publicly at restaurants, serving tourists with a polite and courteous attitude, in accordance with the motto "Pleased to welcome customers, pleased to leave".

To ensure absolute safety for tourists during their vacation in the coastal town during the tourist season. Cua Lo town has proposed many specific and highly feasible solutions, mobilizing the combined strength of all sectors, levels and the participation of all classes of people in ensuring security and order. With the effective advice of the police force, the town has had breakthrough policies including: Issuing a project to innovate propaganda work to mobilize the entire population to participate in crime prevention and combat and building a crime prevention model in the area. Accordingly, many crime prevention and control models have been formed and developed with practical value in social life such as: "Neighborhood groups without crime and social evils", "Agencies, schools, self-management, safety, culture, no crime and social evils", "Families without children violating the law", "Women's groups without husbands, children addicted to drugs and violating the law", "Peaceful neighborhood groups", "Self-governing religious groups in terms of security and order"...

Lieutenant Colonel Ho Minh Thang - Chief of Cua Lo Town Police said: Every year during the tourist season, Cua Lo attracts thousands of domestic and foreign tourists to visit, swim and relax. Therefore, ensuring security and order is an important task that is given top priority. Right from the beginning of the season, the Town Police have deployed professional training courses for grassroots security forces. In addition, the Town Police have inspected businesses with security conditions to remind and rectify the operations of these establishments. Nearly 40 establishments have been inspected, most of the business owners are aware of ensuring security for customers and for themselves.

Mr. Phan Thanh Xuan - Xuan Lan Hotel - Thu Thuy Ward - Cua Lo Town said: "As one of the long-standing hotels, always putting prestige first, in addition to the attentive and thoughtful service attitude to tourists, we also pay great attention to ensuring the safety of tourists during their stay at the hotel, such as checking and guiding guests to sleep and rest at the right time, publicly announcing the hotline for tourists...".
