Proposal to posthumously award the Ho Chi Minh Medal to the late musician Van Cao
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just submitted to the Prime Minister and proposed to the President to posthumously award the Ho Chi Minh Medal to the late musician Van Cao.
Considering the late musician Van Cao's outstanding achievements in Vietnamese music, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just submitted to the Prime Minister and the President a proposal to posthumously award the Ho Chi Minh Medal to the late musician Van Cao.
The late musician Van Cao was a person who made many contributions to the Vietnamese music industry, was one of the leading musicians of our country, and composed many valuable musical works. In particular, the work "Tien Quan Ca" composed by him was chosen as the National Anthem of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Revolutionary songs associated with the musician's revolutionary activities such as: "Vietnamese Soldier" (during this time he began participating in revolutionary activities, writing for the Independent Newspaper, in charge of the Phan Chu Trinh Secret Printing House, in charge of the Honorary Anti-Traitor Team), then at the end of 1944 - 1945 he wrote the work "Marching Song" for the Viet Minh armed forces.
After the August Revolution, Musician Van Cao was both a reporter and a presenter for the Lao Dong newspaper. He and comrade Ha Dang An transported money and weapons to the Southern front. During this time, he composed songs such as: Vietnamese Workers, Vietnamese Air Force, Vietnamese Navy, Bac Son... and was a member of the Executive Committee of the Nine-Country Cultural Association.
During the national resistance war, musician Van Cao went to Inter-zone III and then took charge of an investigation unit of Inter-zone X Police in Lao Cai and wrote for the newspaper Doc Lap. During this period, he wrote “The Lo River Epic”, “My Village”, “Harvest Day”, “Marching to Hanoi” and many other works such as “Praise to President Ho”, “Under the Liberation Flag”, “The First Spring”…
In addition to revolutionary songs, musician Van Cao is also loved by the public for many of his lyrical songs such as "Buon tan thu", "Thien thai", "Truong Chi", "Suoi mo", "Cung zither of the past", "Thang Long hanh khuc ca"...
Musician Van Cao is also one of the active members of the Steering Committee for the establishment of the Vietnam Musicians' Association. He is a founding member of the Vietnam Musicians' Association and also a member of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association and the Vietnam Writers' Association (Executive Committee member of the first and third terms of the Vietnam Musicians' Association, Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Literature and Arts Association)./.
