According to Ms. Hang, because currently the Law on Administrative Violations and the Road Traffic Law do not stipulate permanent revocation of driver's licenses, but only stipulate temporary revocation of licenses for violations related to the use of alcohol while driving. Therefore, it is not enough to deter violators.
“This regulation forces drivers to raise their awareness and responsibility to comply with the law to ensure safe driving and absolutely not to use alcohol before and while driving,” Ms. Hang stated.

Delegate Phuong proposed to add forms of punishment and discipline from administrative sanctions to criticism, reprimand, forced dismissal or criminal prosecution according to the provisions of law.
“The administrative penalty for drinking alcohol and causing an accident or violating other provisions, but not to the extent of prosecution, is to revoke the driver's license for 1-5 years or permanently. The fine is from 20-100 million VND, depending on the severity of the violation” - the delegate of Quang Binh delegation proposed when he said that our laws are not strict, because the level of punishment is often very light. Meanwhile, other countries have extremely strict punishments, so it can be a deterrent and a warning./.
