"When faced with life-and-death choices, involving war or peace, a president cannot make decisions or act without thinking," CNN quoted US first lady Michelle Obama as saying at La Salle University in Philadelphia, on behalf of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. "We need an adult in the White House. I promise you."

Mrs. Obama also criticized Mr. Trump for promoting false conspiracy theories about the birthplace of US President Barack Obama.

"There are people who have questioned for eight years and will continue to question whether my husband was born in this country," Mrs. Obama told the crowd. "Let me be clear: these kinds of hurtful, false questions are meant to destroy."

The US First Lady condemned "negative" or "insulting" behavior during the election and urged supporters to "choose the right candidate to lead the country forward".

Mrs. Obama also repeatedly cited former Secretary of State Clinton's attacks on Republican rival Donald Trump in recent days, especially at the first live debate between presidential candidates on the evening of September 26.

"Experience. Preparation. Temperament. Hillary Clinton has it all. She's truly the perfect choice," Mrs. Obama asserted.

The US First Lady is one of the most prominent representatives of former Secretary of State Clinton. She is actively participating in the campaign calling on university students, young people and other voters who supported Mr. Obama in the 2008 and 2012 elections to vote for Mrs. Clinton./.
