The initial cause of the landslide was determined to be due to the dike being too steep, and the continuous heavy rains in recent days causing the dike to seep water, leading to the landslide. The People's Committee of Do Luong district has directed local officials to coordinate with workers of Do Luong Dike Department to cordon off the area and erect barriers to prohibit people and vehicles from passing through both ends.

Mr. Nguyen Si Hung - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development added: After surveying the site, it is expected that in the soonest time we will handle the landslide according to the plan, clear all the collapsed land and proceed with driving concrete piles, stone embankments... to ensure the quality and safety of the project.
