Nghe An's specialized exam has classified students but is not new.
(Baonghean.vn) - This afternoon (July 21), candidates completed the entrance exam to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted and Vinh University High School for the Gifted. This year's exam was shortened and candidates only had to take one specialized subject instead of two subjects (specialized subject and English) like previous years.

Coming out of the exam room, candidate Nguyen Gia Han - a student at Ha Huy Tap Secondary School said: I found this year's Geography exam not too difficult, the questions mainly tested knowledge and were all within the textbook program, so it was not surprising to me. In previous years, difficult questions were usually about drawing charts, but this year's chart questions were not too difficult to determine.
Regarding the Literature exam, Quan Nhu Y - Hoa Hieu 2 Secondary School (Nghia Dan) said: The Literature exam is really a specialized subject so it is difficult for me. The reading comprehension question is a knowledge test so it is not difficult.

"The social argument about "Should start with giving. That is the secret of luck" is not too surprising, because this topic has been mentioned by teachers during the review process and I have also encountered it many times in the literary works that I have studied. Regarding the literary argument, I find it difficult because it involves literary theory and I have to prove it through the short story "Ivory Comb" by writer Nguyen Quang Sang, so it requires candidates to argue, understand and have solid literary knowledge. In addition, they must have good literary appreciation ability", Nhu Y said.

Regarding the entrance exam for the English specialized class, Nhat Huy - a student at Hung Dung Secondary School said: This year's exam is quite long, testing students in all skills of pronunciation, listening, reading comprehension and essay writing.
This year’s essay asked the candidate to discuss the idea that “children spending too much time reading is a waste, they should spend time on other activities” which was not too surprising and I wrote quite well. But the most difficult part for me was the listening part, I couldn’t listen to the whole passage, so I wasn’t sure I answered all the questions correctly.

Regarding this year's English exam, many teachers commented that the new exam will help avoid the situation of memorizing and extra studying.
Commenting on the Literature exam, a teacher said: The exam ensures the structure of the specialized exam, according to the regulations of the department. The language of question 1 is suitable for students, has educational value, and is rich in humanity when referring to family affection.
The reading comprehension questions also ensure the capacity of an exam. In which, it tests both basic knowledge of Vietnamese and the ability to appreciate literature of students.

Social discussion questions, discussing the important and eternal issue in life is giving and receiving. The topic of this question is not new but the way of speaking is new so it can promote students' creativity.
The literary argument also discussed the characteristics of literary content. However, the way of asking is not really open and a bit "closed". This will "restrict" students in the way they express themselves and make it difficult to detect the abilities of a good student and a specialized student.
