Nghe An's 10th grade Literature exam creates excitement for candidates
This afternoon (June 8), after 150 minutes of taking the test, the entrance exam to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted ended. Many candidates said that the test was difficult and that it was difficult for them to complete the test.

English is the subject with the largest number of candidates taking the exam, with many specialized classes such as English, Russian, French, Japanese and Chinese. This is also a specialized class with a high competition rate, gathering many students with excellent academic results, including nearly 200 students with IELTS certificates, many of whom achieved IELTS scores of 8.0 and 8.5.
Leaving the exam room, student Bao Ngoc - Hung Loc Secondary School - Vinh City said: I have achieved the title of excellent student of the city, but I think this year's exam questions are quite difficult for many candidates. I myself had difficulty with 2 essays, in which the essay about artificial intelligence AI I was quite interested in. However, the second essay asking me to write a letter to a person who received an award for their dedication to the community was a bit "strange" and I think I did not do well. I also "randomly answered" some of the answers.

Nguyen Linh Chi (student of Cua Nam Secondary School - Vinh City) said that she was quite satisfied with the English exam. She found the exam not too difficult, but quite long and had many new words. Therefore, candidates must have a rich vocabulary foundation, solid grammar and make the most of their time to do the test. The listening part requires high concentration and Linh Chi herself listened quite well.
Previously, this female student had never taken the IELTS test but was studying for the entrance exam to the traditional English class of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted. “I personally assessed my background scores for the three subjects Math, Literature, and English in the entrance exam for grade 10 as okay. As for English, I got 2 questions wrong (out of 50 questions). Combined with today's test results, I feel like I did my best and feel comfortable completing both important exams,” Linh Chi shared.

Literature is also a subject that receives a lot of attention. Talking about this year's exam, student Tuan Dung - Dang Thai Mai Secondary School said: I quite like this exam, I wrote 15 pages and I hope I will get a good score.
I quite enjoyed the Social Essay with the requirement “Think about the question “What are we missing out on”. Personally, I think we are chasing after many impractical things and missing out on meaningful moments with family and friends.

Regarding the literature essay, I personally really like the writer Nguyen Minh Chau and I was interested in doing the essay. This is also the writer who has a saying that I really like: "The true mission of a writer is to find the pearls hidden deep in the soul" and I also applied that saying in my essay.
Traveling nearly 100km to Vinh city to take the Literature exam at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Le Thi Hoang An - Quynh Thien Secondary School - Hoang Mai town said that the structure of the exam was familiar. However, she was quite surprised by the questions in the exam. "Before that, I focused on reviewing poetry, but this year's literature essay question was about short stories. Of course, the specialized exam questions are usually not limited to just one work, here it is the viewpoint on "moments of short stories" by Nguyen Minh Chau, and candidates must apply their own experiences and knowledge from the short stories they have studied and read to write the essay. Therefore, I still try my best."
For the social argumentation question, the given material was an excerpt from the work “Growing up after a thousand struggles” by Rando Kim and “Living fully for today” by Taketoshi Ozawa, which Hoang An thought was quite interesting. Previously, during the learning process, social argumentation questions on topics related to self-development, life issues, life values, etc. were also practiced and tested many times by teachers: The exam made students stop for a moment to think about important things in life, precious moments with family and loved ones that were accidentally missed, just because they were absorbed in the joys before their eyes – this candidate shared.

Thus, by June 8, the 10th grade entrance exam of the Nghe An Department of Education and Training has ended. However, students taking the specialized exam will have another exam to enter Vinh University High School for the Gifted on June 15.
It is expected that the specialized exam scores will be announced on the same day as the 10th grade entrance exam scores.
