This year's Literature exam consists of 2 parts: reading comprehension and writing with 5 questions. Among them, the first question was considered quite good by many candidates when analyzing the passage about Good, Evil and Smartphone by author Dang Hoang Giang.
In the writing section (7 points), candidates must analyze 2 questions, in which question 1 continues the topic of empathy by asking candidates to think about empathy in life.
Question two (5 points) was considered easy by students because it analyzed a familiar stanza in the poem "Country" by poet Nguyen Khoa Diem. This is also a work that is analyzed a lot in high school and is enjoyed by students.
Candidate Vy Thi Thu - Quy Hop 3 High School said: I think empathy is necessary in life. This question did not take me too much time. I really like the image of the little girl giving a teddy bear to the crying baby and think that it is a very beautiful and humane action.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Luu Canh Hao, 12C5, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, taking the D exam, commented: “Regarding the question of feeling the poem “Country”, I and many of my friends reviewed it very carefully. In addition, this is also an important work in the program and the issue mentioned is quite familiar, so I found it easy to get into the flow of feeling. As for the reading comprehension part about the meaning of empathy in life, it was not too challenging. Because the previous part had familiar questions, which were in the reading passage and could be applied to the essay. Personally, I just needed to apply my own opinions and views to ensure the required content and volume of the question. For me, this year's question was quite suitable and not too challenging for the candidates,” Canh Hao shared.

As one of the candidates who left the Phan Boi Chau High School exam site the earliest, Le Thanh Dat, class 12A5, Huynh Thuc Khang High School, said, “This year’s literature test was quite suitable. I took the A exam but was able to do it and had plenty of time, so I decided to submit it early to go home and review my notes in preparation for the Math exam this afternoon.”

Commenting on the Literature exam, Ms. Nguyen Thi Van Hanh, head of the Literature group, Ethnic Boarding High School No. 2, Nghe An province, said: After the exam was posted online, I immediately read it and really liked the way the Ministry of Education and Training created this year's Literature exam. First of all, this is an exam that meets 4 levels: recognition, understanding, application and high application. The exam follows the structure of the previous sample exam announced by the Ministry. The knowledge is in the textbook program. Besides, the good thing about the test is that it differentiates students. In particular, question 4 requires candidates to give their opinion that compassion originates from empathy, which is a high-level application question of the reading comprehension section. Candidates must express their own opinions, personal views and make strong, logical arguments to defend their views to the reader. The essay question stating the candidate’s feelings about the excerpt “The Country” (poet Nguyen Khoa Diem) and commenting on the author’s views on the country is a question for the candidate to demonstrate his/her ability to appreciate literature and to address current issues. Accordingly, the country and the people is a very old idea of our ancestors, but it still has its original value today. In short, this is an appropriate topic.
