I was most impressed by this topic and remembered it best among the three reading comprehension passages. Overall, with my abilities, I'm confident I can score above 9 points.

As a chemistry major, Tran Dieu Thao, who applied for the Math-Chemistry-English combination, was quite confident about her exam: "The exam was easier than the school's mock exams and the Ministry's exam. I finished it in just 20 minutes, and I think my score will be quite high." After leaving the exam room, she discovered she had answered question 10 incorrectly (code 416). This was a fill-in-the-blank question at a high application level, so even with plenty of time left, she wasn't sure if she got it right.

Diễu Thảo said that the exam had 3 reading passages. She could use a trick to solve the (blank-and-answer) passage by looking at the words at the end. The other two required translation and understanding the meaning to answer correctly. Candidates needed a fairly strong vocabulary to do well on the exam. Sharing the same sentiment, candidate Kieu Bao Nhi from Vinh University High School for Gifted Students felt the English exam was quite easy. However, despite doing well in English, she still thinks it's difficult to predict the university admission scores this year. There's a significant difference in difficulty between subjects. For example, the Math exam was difficult, but the English exam was easy. She hasn't predicted how much the university admission scores will fluctuate this year, but hopes to achieve her desired goals.

As for Vi Manh Huy, a student applying for the humanities/social sciences (Block C), he said, "My exam code is 406, and I found many questions difficult in the reading comprehension and verb tense sections. Although I completed all the questions, I only hope to get around 80%, enough to meet my graduation requirements."

Evaluating this year's English exam, Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Thuy, a foreign language teacher residing in Quy Hop district, said: "The exam wasn't too difficult, closely following the structure of the mock exam. With sufficient basic knowledge and vocabulary, candidates can easily score a 5. However, the questions on idioms were challenging, making it difficult for candidates to achieve a score of 8 or higher."

This afternoon, candidates in Do Luong district left the English exam centers under the scorching sun. However, their mood was quite relaxed because many of them were confident about answering 2/3 of the questions correctly.

At the exam center at Do Luong 1 High School, while discussing his test results with a group of friends, Dao Duc Chinh, a student in class 12T4, said: “The English exam had 50 questions. I'm sure I got 30 right, and I guessed on the remaining 20… Although my academic ability is above average. In my opinion, questions 40 and above were difficult and highly selective.”

Like Dao Duc Chinh, Nguyen Viet Sang, a student from class 12T1, shared: “I confidently circled answers to 35 questions, but I wasn't so sure about the remaining 15. I felt the exam format was exactly as we reviewed. My impression was of the two reading comprehension passages, the second of which was about stunt actors. Most of the students in my room were able to do well on the exam.”

After completing the final exam of the 2023 high school graduation exam, many students in Con Cuong district breathed a sigh of relief because this year's English exam was not too difficult, at a moderate level to achieve an average score.

At the exam center at Con Cuong High School, candidate Vi Van Vu commented that the exam this afternoon was neither too easy nor too difficult for him. Vu shared that he didn't use his English score for university admission, so he didn't study much from the beginning. The first 20 questions were relatively easy for students who focused on studying English at school. The next section started to have more difficult questions, with increasing difficulty. Meanwhile, candidate Nguyen Thi Ngoc said that the exam, consisting of 50 multiple-choice questions, was not too difficult or challenging. "I found the exam easier than in 2022. I think I answered more than 70% of the questions correctly."

After the Foreign Language exam, at Anh Son 2 High School, many candidates emerged with radiant faces after successfully passing the test.

Nguyen Van Hieu happily shared that he did very well on the exam today. The exam had 50 questions, with about two-thirds testing basic knowledge, so students who had a solid grasp of the curriculum could achieve a good score. He felt that this year's exam was manageable for students; although he wasn't an English major, he was confident he scored around 70%. He said he had now finished his exams, felt relieved, and was eagerly awaiting the results.

Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, a student at the Anh Son 3 High School exam center, said that, overall, this year's exam was very similar to the sample exam, with a fairly clear differentiation in difficulty levels. Most of the questions tested knowledge and vocabulary that had been reviewed at school. The questions were mostly easy to medium difficulty, allowing students who didn't focus on English to answer them. Only from question 40 onwards did the questions become more difficult to differentiate students. She made the most of her time, completing the exam within the first 50 minutes and then carefully reviewing her answers. She believes she will score around 7 points or higher.

In Nghia Dan district, Nguyen Van Bao, a candidate taking the Foreign Language exam at the 1/5 High School exam center, confidently stated: "This year's exam wasn't too difficult, similar to the 2023 sample exam structure from the Ministry. The Reading Comprehension section had many relatively difficult questions, requiring candidates not only to have a large vocabulary but also to grasp the main idea and context of the passage. This was the section that made many candidates think carefully before answering."

"Overall, I think the exam can meet both graduation requirements and university entrance requirements. There are quite a few easy questions, suitable for students who are not strong in this subject. However, the more challenging questions are relatively difficult, intended for students who will use their English scores for university admission. I hope to score 8 points or higher," Bao expressed.

When asked about the Foreign Language exam, many foreign language teachers said that this year's exam was quite easy, not too tricky, and followed the textbook curriculum. Candidates only needed to master the structure and learn a lot of vocabulary to answer many questions in the exam.

Observations at the exam site at Quy Chau High School showed that after the exam time ended and the papers were submitted, the candidates left with mixed feelings. However, many candidates expressed excitement and joy because the exam questions were quite manageable for them.

Candidate Vi Thi Hien, a student from Quy Chau High School, said that although English is not her strong point, she found this year's exam neither too difficult nor too easy. "I completed the entire exam and I think I scored over 60%."

Candidate Nguyen Hung Quang commented: "The exam had a high level of differentiation. I found the reading comprehension section the most difficult, while the other sections like vocabulary and grammar were relatively easy, so I finished quite quickly." Earlier, this candidate stated that he participated in the exam to obtain results for graduation consideration because he had already used another method to apply for and be admitted to the Polytechnic University.
