The 2016 National High School Exam mainly covers the 12th grade curriculum, requiring students to express their opinions on economic, political and social issues of the country.

The Ministry of Education and Training has just sent an official dispatch to the Departments of Education and Training, the Department of Schools - Ministry of National Defense, and affiliated high schools regarding the organization of the 2016 national high school exam review. Accordingly, the Ministry of Education and Training announced that it will not issue review materials for the national high school exam.

In order to prepare students well in terms of knowledge, skills and psychology when entering the 2016 national high school exam, the Ministry of Education and Training requires educational units to organize the study of exam regulations for managers, teachers and students; disseminate the regulations to parents; and prepare good conditions for implementing the regulations.

Localities direct high schools, vocational education and continuing education centers (VET) and educational institutions to implement the VET program at the high school level to complete the 12th grade program according to the plan of the Department of Education and Training, in accordance with the guidelines of the 2015-2016 school year time plan framework and the guidelines for adjusting general education teaching content. In particular, it is strictly forbidden to cut the prescribed program.

Seriously organize the testing, evaluation and classification of students in the second semester and the whole school year in accordance with the Regulations on evaluation and classification of junior high school students and high school students to ensure objectivity, honesty, fairness and correct assessment of students' actual abilities.

In the dispatch, the Ministry of Education and Training stated: The content of the 2016 national high school exam is within the high school program, mainly the 12th grade program. The Ministry of Education and Training does not issue review materials for the national high school exam.

Therefore, educational units need to direct high schools and continuing education centers to implement effective solutions and organize review sessions for 12th grade students suitable for each school and each group of students to improve the quality of the 2016 national high school exam.

After the end of the school year as planned, students' review is carried out in the direction of increasing the time for students to study on their own.

High schools and continuing education centers require professional groups and teachers of national high school exam subjects to evaluate and draw experience from the organization of review and graduation exams in 2015 to have more basis for developing review plans and content for the 2016 exam; pay attention to the knowledge content of the program that has been adjusted according to Official Dispatch No. 5842/BGDĐT-VP dated September 1, 2011 of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The exam questions are related to current national issues.

Schools need to organize review sessions to ensure time, focusing on the requirements of knowledge and skills standards of the high school education program, mainly in the 12th grade program, paying attention to helping students improve their levels of understanding and applying knowledge in the spirit of Official Dispatch No. 8773/BGDĐT-GDTrH dated December 30, 2010 on instructions for compiling test questions according to a matrix with 4 levels of requirements: recognition, understanding, application and high application.

Pay attention to the new requirements for teaching and learning stated in the school year's task instructions, in which, for social sciences and humanities, it is necessary to continue to improve the requirements for applying knowledge into practice, expressing one's opinions on economic, political, and social issues related to current issues of the homeland and country. For Foreign Languages, it is necessary to continue to improve the requirements for developing communication skills with listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

The school directs homeroom teachers to proactively coordinate with teachers of exam subjects to group students in their class according to cognitive ability and optional exam subjects.

Assign capable, experienced, and enthusiastic teachers to guide revision; pay attention to helping weak students, mobilize good students to provide additional support, helping these students grasp the basic knowledge and skills required by the program.

For good and excellent students, there should be flexible review time and increased self-study with guidance from subject teachers. Schools need to support students in self-study such as creating conditions for facilities, supplementary materials and answering questions for students.

High schools and continuing education centers instruct homeroom teachers and subject teachers to coordinate with students and parents to arrange reasonable review time, ensure students' health, review effectively but not overload.

Do not force students to buy reference materials or review books.

In the dispatch, the Ministry of Education and Training strictly prohibited units from organizing the issuance or forcing students to buy reference materials in general and review books for the national high school exam in particular.

The organization of extra classes (if any) to serve exam preparation must comply with the regulations in Circular No. 17/2012/TT-BGDDT dated May 16, 2012 of the Ministry of Education and Training and the regulations of the People's Committees of provinces and cities; especially ensuring the voluntary nature of students and the effectiveness of teaching content.

For students who have completed high school but have not yet graduated and now wish to review, based on the actual conditions of the high school, the Continuing Education Center will create conditions to organize review for these subjects./.
