On February 23, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang and Thanh Nien Newspaper organized the 2025 exam season consultation program at Phan Chau Trinh High School.
The 2025 exam season consultation program is organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang and Thanh Nien Newspaper on both in-person and online platforms.
The program is accompanied by nearly 30 educational units from Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hue and more than 5,000 grade 12 students from high schools in the city.
Mr. Huynh Van Chuong - Director of the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training informed students, parents and teachers about some notes on the first high school graduation exam and university and college entrance exam of the 2018 General Education Program with many innovations.
According to Mr. Huynh Van Chuong, the 2018 General Education Program has significant changes compared to the past, especially in the approach to knowledge and assessment of capacity. Therefore, the exam questions are designed to ensure reliable results for high school graduation, assessment of the teaching and learning process, allowing candidates to use the exam results for admission to universities, colleges, and vocational education.
Specifically, the exam does not only test knowledge but focuses more on assessing the ability to apply knowledge in practice. There will be many questions built from real-life situations in life, science, and society, helping candidates clearly see the connection between the knowledge learned and the world around them.
The 2025 high school graduation exam, according to the Director of the Department of Quality Management, will be designed to clearly differentiate between groups of candidates. The differentiation will clearly show a score of 7 points or higher. The distribution of questions at the levels of knowledge, understanding, and application is 4-3-3. With a knowledge and understanding ratio of about 70%, the exam will lean towards the goal of graduation while understanding and application will be about 30%, enough to differentiate for the purpose of university and college admissions.

Another new point that candidates need to note is that the Literature subject can use materials other than textbooks when constructing exam questions. This helps assess students' ability to read, understand and perceive texts in real-life situations, avoiding rote learning or mechanical memorization. Materials can include passages, poems or situations related to current events and social life.
