Losing like a match-fixer, Tan Truong officially received a heavy penalty.
After conceding goals in the match against Ceres Negros, Tan Truong received an internal penalty in the first phase of V.League 2019, National Cup and upcoming matches at AFC Cup 2019.
According to SGGP, in an internal meeting today, March 18, Becamex Binh Duong Club imposed a ban on goalkeeper Bui Tan Truong until the end of the first phase of V.League 2019 after his serious mistakes against Ceres Negros Club on March 12, in the group stage of AFC Cup 2019.
After Tan Truong’s inexplicable technical mistakes in the 26th minute right at his home stadium Go Dau, many people began to question the playing attitude of this experienced goalkeeper. Fans even believed that Tan Truong had sold the match.
After the match, Coach Tran Minh Chien said that Tan Truong played below his best. He will consider this position and possibly create opportunities for other players. Meanwhile, General Director of Binh Duong Club - Le Hong Cuong lost sleep because his player conceded a silly goal.
Attending the internal meeting on March 18, in addition to the members of the coaching board and players, there was also the participation of club leaders. The coaching board and players reviewed the video and analyzed the situations that led to the loss.
Accordingly, the team determined that Tan Truong's fault was lack of concentration and subjectivity, leading to the loss and causing fans to lose faith. In the immediate future, Binh Duong will not use goalkeeper Tan Truong until the end of the first phase of V.League 2019, the National Cup and the upcoming matches at AFC Cup 2019.
Tan Truong will continue to practice normally in the coming time. After the penalty ends, the future of this goalkeeper will be decided based on the evaluation of the coaching staff.
"I hope the recent incident will be a lesson for the players and they will play better in the future for the sake of the flag and the trust of the fans," General Director of Binh Duong Football Joint Stock Company Le Hong Cuong shared with SGGP.
