Proposal to rename Nghe An Province Farm and Craft Village Association to Farm, Craft Village and OCOP Economics Association
On the morning of December 19, the Provincial Farm and Craft Village Association held its 3rd Congress of Delegates for the 2024-2029 term.
Attending the congress were representatives of the Vietnam Farm and Agricultural Enterprise Association; Vietnam Craft Village Association; Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee; Provincial Emulation and Reward Committee; Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; Department of Home Affairs; Provincial Farm and Craft Village Association; and other agencies and units.

During the last term, the Provincial Farm and Craft Village Association has had remarkable achievements. The work of building the association organization has been focused on. Up to now, the association has about 200 members participating in regular activities, actively participating in production, business, and economic development. The association has organized 8 training courses with a total of 400 members participating in the contents of production, cultivation, animal husbandry, OCOP product development...; enhancing the application of science and technology to improve productivity and product quality.

The province currently has 440 farms for cultivation, livestock, forestry, mixed farms... with a total of 1,423 workers, an average income of 7.5 million VND/person/month; the average profit of each farm is about 700 million VND/year... Regarding craft villages, the province currently has 189 craft villages recognized by the Provincial People's Committee, with diverse and abundant products, guaranteed quality, and beautiful designs. Many products from craft villages have achieved OCOP certification from 4 to 5 stars...
Speaking at the congress, Ms. Vo Thi Nhung - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, on behalf of the industry leaders, congratulated and acknowledged the results that the association has achieved in the past 5 years, contributing to the overall victory of the Agriculture and Rural Development sector of Nghe An province, especially in the fields of farms and craft villages.

In addition to the achieved results, in the activities of farms and craft villages in the province, there are still shortcomings and limitations that need to be addressed in the coming term, such as: The current scale of farm economy is still small, uneven, and not commensurate with the potential and advantages of the province. The management, organization of production and business mainly rely on experience, the workers working on the farm are mainly unskilled workers, without vocational training...

The application of scientific and technical advances in production has encountered many difficulties, leading to low product quality, failure to create a brand, and insufficient competitiveness in the market. In the whole province, there are currently 40 craft villages that have stopped operating (accounting for 21.2%) and 25 craft villages that are operating ineffectively (accounting for 13.2%); of which, some villages are at risk of disappearing....
In the coming term, the Provincial Farm and Craft Village Association will carry out key tasks, including building a strong association, doing a good job of information and propaganda, enhancing training, applying science and technology in production, promoting social security work, etc.

Based on the discussion, the 3rd Congress of the Provincial Farm and Craft Village Association agreed on the submission and proposed the Provincial People's Committee to change the name of the Provincial Farm and Craft Village Association to "Nghe An Province Farm, Craft Village and OCOP Economic Association".
The Congress elected the Executive Committee for the 2024 - 2029 term, consisting of 41 members; 100% unanimously agreed to honor Mr. Nguyen Van Binh (former founder of the Association and Chairman of the Association for the first and second terms) as Honorary Chairman of the Association.

On this occasion, the Nghe An Provincial Farm and Craft Village Association received a Banner from the Provincial People's Committee. Collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements were also awarded Certificates of Merit, Certificates of Merit, and Certificates of Appreciation from the Vietnam Farm and Agricultural Enterprise Association, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Farm and Craft Village Association.
