The authorities quickly identified the most suspicious person as Nguyen Thi Hien (born in 1999), residing in Hamlet 14, Nghia Hanh Commune, Tan Ky District. Since June 26, Hien has filed for divorce from her husband and has asked to stay with her aunt, Nguyen Thi Trung and Le Sy Son.
At the investigation agency, Hien initially denied the crime, giving a very stubborn and roundabout statement. However, after more than 5 hours of struggle by the police, Hien bowed his head and admitted his guilt, confessing to all his crimes.
Specifically: While staying at her aunt's house, Hien observed and learned where the money was hidden. At around 2:00 a.m. on July 4, while her family was fast asleep, Hien rummaged through and stole VND41,500,000 out of the total VND150,000,000 that the family had just borrowed. After that, Hien went to find a room to rent in Thach Son commune and hid the stolen money.
Currently, Anh Son District Police are continuing to investigate and handle the case according to the provisions of law.
