Tran Hung Dao Temple in Vinh City is recognized as a provincial relic.
(Baonghean.vn) - This is the pride of the people of Vinh city in general and Doi Cung ward in particular, showing respect and gratitude for the great contributions of Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan to the struggle to protect the country.
On the morning of October 6, at the People's Committee of Doi Cung ward, the People's Committee of Vinh city held a ceremony to receive the provincial-level historical relic ranking certificate for Tran Hung Dao temple and offered incense to commemorate Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan on the occasion of his 720th death anniversary.
Attending the event were comrade Phan Duc Dong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Vinh City Party Committee, representatives of the Department of Culture and Sports; leaders of wards and communes in the area.

Hung Dao Dai Vuong, whose given name was Quoc Tuan, was the third son of An Sinh Vuong Tran Lieu, and the nephew of King Tran Thai Tong. He was a person who contributed a lot to the country, contributing to the "Dong A Heroic Spirit" of the Tran Dynasty, and was a person who contributed greatly to the second and third resistance wars against the invading Yuan-Mongol army.
He was also a loyal and benevolent general who knew how to use talented people and cared about building national unity. On September 5, the 8th year of Hung Long (1300), or August 20, the year of Canh Ty, Hung Dao Dai Vuong passed away at his residence in Van Kiep. He was revered by the people as a Saint with the name Duc Thanh Tran, becoming one of the popular folk beliefs. Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan was worshiped by the people all over the country.

In Nghe An, Tran Hung Dao Temple was built in 1914. Originally, the temple consisted of 4 buildings, facing south. Through the ups and downs of history and the devastation of wars, the temple was seriously damaged, a number of statues and sacrificial objects were brought to worship at Hong Son Temple. In 2014, implementing the policy of restoring Tran Hung Dao Temple, Vinh City People's Committee took the first steps to restore the temple on the old ground, and at the same time moved the system of statues and sacrificial objects of Tran Hung Dao from Hong Son Temple to worship at Tran Hung Dao Temple.

By 2017, Tran Hung Dao Temple was completely restored with the main structures of the Worshiping Hall, the Rear Palace and the three-door gate in the traditional architectural style of Nghe An. The temple was built to worship Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan, the Second Princess (ie Anh Nguyen District Princess) and his generals such as Pham Ngu Lao, Tran Binh Trong, Hoang Ta Thon, Yet Kieu, Da Tuong... In addition, the temple also worships the gods in the Four Palaces system of Mother Goddess religion. Every year, at Tran Hung Dao Temple, many cultural and spiritual activities take place such as the Spring Festival (February 10th of the lunar calendar); the memorial ceremony of the death of Saint Tran (August 20th of the lunar calendar); the practice of Mother Goddess worship; ...

Recognizing the great cultural and historical values of Tran Hung Dao Temple, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 533/QD-UBND to rank Tran Hung Dao Temple, Doi Cung Ward, Vinh City as a provincial historical relic.

Immediately after the awarding ceremony, representatives of the Department of Culture and Sports, leaders of Vinh City People's Committee and a large number of people carried the historical relic ranking certificate from Doi Cung Ward People's Committee to Tran Hung Dao Temple; participated in offering incense to commemorate Tran Quoc Tuan according to traditional rituals.
