“Breathtakingly beautiful” with the award-winning works of the world's largest photo contest

On March 20, the jury of the world's largest photo contest, Sony World Photography Award 2018, announced the winning photos in the open category and the national category with frames that stunned viewers.

According to worldphoto.org, the 11th Sony World Photography Award attracted more than 320,000 entries from professional and amateur photographers from 200 countries around the world.

The contest has 4 main categories, including professional photography, open photography (amateur), youth and students.

The Open competition is open to amateur photographers in 10 different categories, from architecture and culture to travel and wildlife.

The photo 'In the middle of the cajuput forest' taken in Dong Thap by photographer Pham Huy Trung is among the 40 best photos in the Travel category, and also won the honor of winning first prize in the National category (Vietnam).

"I took this photo with a flycam in 2017 in a cajuput forest during the flood season in Dong Thap. Standing out in the middle of the cajuput forest is the image of a woman sitting on a boat picking yams" - Mr. Pham Huy Trung shared.

The top winners of the professional and amateur categories will be announced on April 19. All winning and highly commended images will be exhibited at Somerset House Gallery in London, UK from April 20 to May 6, 2018.

"Through the photos submitted to participate, I discovered the best quality images of international stature. The winning photos have a very special impression, considered from factors such as harmonious composition, movement, creative skills or it is a telling image from a unique event... In general, the winner is when taking a very special photo" - Express (UK) quoted Ms. Zelda Cheatle, head of the jury.
