Went bird hunting, accidentally shot and killed his friend.
The subject was holding a gun to shoot birds but touched the trigger, causing the bullet to hit his friend and cause his death. However, he told the police that the victim was careless and the gun accidentally went off and killed him.
On August 16, Phu Ninh District Police (Quang Nam) announced the initial cause of a case of "involuntary manslaughter" that occurred in the district.

According to the case file, on the afternoon of August 12, Do Luu Tuan (born in 1982, residing in Truong Xuan ward, Tam Ky city) drove a car with license plate 92D-000.86 carrying Cao Thanh Huy (born in 1999, residing in Truong Xuan ward, Tam Ky city) and Tran Minh Tuan (born in 1991, residing in Tam Anh Bac commune, Nui Thanh district) to go hunting.
Hunting equipment included an air gun, shot lead bullets (made in the US), 1 Sniper brand binoculars along with some lead bullets for the gun and placed in the back trunk of the car next to Huy's seat.
When he arrived at Ky Tan village (Tam Dan commune, Phu Ninh district), he discovered a lapwing on the side of the road. Do Luu Tuan stopped the car and loaded the gun, but the bird had already flown away, so Tuan left the gun in its original position.

Continuing about 300m at Phu Ninh dam bank in Ky Tan village, Tam Dan commune (Phu Ninh), the group discovered another lapwing under the dam bank, then Do Luu Tuan stopped the car, got out of the car and took a gun to shoot.
At this time, Tuan used his left hand to take the gun and looked at the bird to watch. While raising the gun, Do Luu Tuan's finger touched the trigger, causing the gun to go off. The bullet hit Huy's right hip, injuring Huy.
Seeing that, Do Luu Tuan and Tran Minh Tuan took Huy to Minh Thien General Hospital for emergency treatment, but his condition was critical so they transferred him to Quang Nam General Hospital. Due to severe injuries, the victim died at Quang Nam General Hospital.
At around 9pm the same day, Do Luu Tuan and Tran Minh Tuan went to Tam Ky City Police to report the incident. However, at first, these subjects gave evasive statements, causing the police force to spend a lot of time verifying and investigating to clarify the matter.
Initially at the Tam Ky City Police Department and Phu Ninh District Police Department, Do Luu Tuan and Tran Minh Tuan both confessed that Huy's death was due to Huy's carelessness while using a bird gun to shoot a robber, causing the bullet to hit his abdomen, causing blood loss.
However, from the collected evidence and statements of Do Luu Tuan and Tran Minh Tuan, the District Police Investigation Agency determined that the cause of Huy's death was not caused by the victim himself, so they continued to fight with Do Luu Tuan and Tran Minh Tuan to clarify the case.
After many hours of struggle, at 8:30 a.m. on August 14, Do Luu Tuan confessed that while using a gun to shoot birds at the dam of Phu Ninh Lake (in Tam Dan commune, Phu Ninh), he accidentally pulled the trigger, causing the gun to go off and hit Huy while Huy was sitting in the back of the car.
After Do Luu Tuan confessed his actions, at 2:00 p.m. the same day, Phu Ninh District Police coordinated with the District People's Procuracy to bring Do Luu Tuan and Tran Minh Tuan to the scene to conduct an experimental investigation of the incident.
Currently, Phu Ninh District Police are continuing to investigate and consolidate the case file to handle Do Luu Tuan according to the law for the acts of "involuntary manslaughter" and "illegal use of weapons".
