12th grade male student drowned while catching flood rats

On the afternoon of October 12, a tragic drowning incident occurred at Be Dam (Nam Xuan Commune, Nam Dan District), killing one student and injuring another.

Mr. Vo Van Danh - Vice Chairman of Nam Xuan Commune People's Committee said: Nguyen Van Chien (in hamlet 3, Nam Tan commune, Nam Dan district, grade 12 student, Sao Nam High School) came to Nam Xuan commune to play with a group of classmates.

Chien and a group of classmates went digging for flood rats. Chien and a student from Nam Anh commune slipped and drowned at the Be dam (irrigation dam) bordering hamlet 4, Nam Xuan commune and Nam Anh commune.

The student in Nam Anh commune was rescued by his friends and local people, taken to the emergency room in time, and escaped. Meanwhile, Chien drowned and died.

In the evening of the same day, Chien's body was found, his family came to receive it, brought it back to his hometown to hold a funeral according to local customs./.
