(Baonghean.vn) - Although it is only the second day of Tet, the market in Anh Son district is already bustling. The special thing about this market is that for good luck on the first day of the year, people only bring fresh vegetables grown in their home gardens to sell at the market.

From early morning, Anh Son town market has been open for spring with many rich products. It is not simply selling or buying daily goods but also implies the meaning of praying for luck, buy luck for new year should kThere was no haggling or bargaining, but it took place in a gentle, warm atmosphere.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, village 8, Hoi Son commune, shared: “Every year, on the second day of Tet, I usually go to the market to bring luck. The feeling of going to the first market of the new year is so exciting that it is hard to describe. Going to the market at the beginning of the year is very pleasant. Our ancestors often say “buy salt at the beginning of the year”, so almost every year I buy it to bring luck to myself and my family in the year and to bring richness to family relationships, harmony between husband and wife, and children”.

Ms. Tran Thi Van, village 6, Hoi Son commune, said: I have been selling at the beginning of the year markets like this for nearly 10 years now. Every year, as a habit, on the morning of the 2nd day of Tet every year, I set up shop. The items I sell are all grown by my family, such as chrysanthemums, mustard greens, squash, cucumbers, etc.

According to Ms. Van, on the first day of the year, buying and selling at the markets is not heavily commercial. The important thing is that people come to the market to buy some spring luck, to wish everyone and every family a peaceful new year, family harmony, and prosperity.

Our observations show that although it is the first market of the year, there are still all kinds of goods. From bunches of eggplants, squash, cucumbers, meat and fish to onions, garlic, vegetables, etc. Unlike normal days, buyers and sellers can ask and chat freely, and whether they sell much or little is not very important. On this day, not only in the central market but also some fruit and vegetable stalls are displayed on the roadside on the first day of the new year.
