Going through the procedures for issuance and renewal, 43 drivers in Nghe An were discovered using fake driver's licenses.
(Baonghean.vn) - During the process of reviewing documents for issuance and renewal, the Nghe An Department of Transport discovered 43 cases of fake driving licenses. Most of the licenses had the date of issue from 10 to 20 years ago.
On March 14, the leader of the Department of Transport of Nghe An province said that the unit had just issued a decision to revoke the A1 class motorcycle driving licenses of 43 cases at the same time due to using fake driving licenses.
Accordingly, these people recently submitted documents to the Department of Transport requesting to change to a new driver's license. However, during the inspection process, the authorities determined that 43 licenses were not issued by the driver's license management agency (fake driver's licenses).
In addition to having their fake driving licenses revoked, these 43 cases will be held legally responsible and will not be granted driving licenses for the next five years.
According to the reporter’s investigation, most of these 43 fake driving licenses were issued 10 to 20 years ago. In one case in Hong Long commune (Nam Dan district), the date of issue on the fake driving license was from 2002.

Buying and using fake driving licenses not only violates the law but also poses a risk of causing traffic accidents. For the use of fake driving licenses, according to Point a, Clause 5, Article 21, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP dated December 30, 2019 of the Government on administrative sanctions for violations in the field of road and railway traffic, motorcyclists will be fined from VND 800,000 to VND 1.2 million and car drivers will be fined from VND 4 - 6 million. In addition, driving licenses not issued by competent authorities, erased driving licenses, and invalid driving licenses will also be confiscated.
Meanwhile, according to Article 341 of the 2017 Penal Code, the crime of forging seals and documents of agencies and organizations; the crime of using fake seals or documents of agencies and organizations is punishable by a fine of 30 million to 100 million VND; non-custodial reform for up to 3 years or imprisonment from 6 months to 7 years./.
