11 year old male student tragically drowned while swimming in the river
(Baonghean.vn) - Three grandparents and grandchildren went swimming in Giang River, one child tragically drowned. The incident just happened in Thanh My Commune (Thanh Chuong).
According to locals, on the afternoon of July 3, Tran Quoc Ch. (11 years old), residing in My Tien village, along with his brother and grandfather, went to the Giang river, passing through the old hamlet 3, Thanh My commune, to swim.
While bathing, at 6pm, Ch. drowned. Not long after, people harvesting corn discovered and recovered his body from the river.
It is known that Ch. is the second son in a family of 3 siblings. His father is working in the South. His mother is raising a younger sibling at home.
According to local people, the Giang River passing through My Tien village is quite shallow this season, but the riverbed has many concave and convex features that pose a risk of drowning for children and those who cannot swim. In the past, there have been many tragic drowning incidents here. The victims are mainly children.
