Let's go, Messi!

Barcelona won a resounding 3-0 victory in the first leg against the "Red Brigade" Liverpool, the ticket to the 9th final seemed to be in their hands.

However, what happened at Anfield nearly a week later left everyone stunned. A scenario that made all the fans' hearts beat faster.

Messi failed to help Barcelona reach the final after losing to Liverpool in the second leg of the semi-final.

When the final whistle blew, all eyes were on Messi. This was yet another sad memory for the world's top star in nearly a decade. However, no one blamed Messi. The current Barcelona team was no longer in good shape, they were overwhelmed by the young strength of the English team.

Messi has never been at fault, the Argentine star has always done his job excellently in every match of Barcelona this season. However, in the final decisive moment, people have realized that when Messi cannot score, Barcelona becomes slow and lacks will.

In the last match, Messi had 3 shots on goal and 5 assists for his teammates but all were unsuccessful. Even if Dembele had not turned amateur in the situation where Messi assisted in the first leg, perhaps Liverpool's chance would have been gone.

Perhaps it is time for Barcelona to reform. It could mean a change in Ernesto Valverde's coaching bench, it could mean the departure of "veterans" who have gone through the club's successful years over the past decade such as Pique, Alba, Ivan Rakitić or Busquets...

There is only one person that all the fans of the Catalan team still want to hold on to, and that is Messi. No matter what the circumstances, the South American star has been, is and will be the breath of this team.

As for Messi, perhaps it is time for him to think for himself instead of keeping an unchanging love in his heart. His great contributions to Barcelona are more than enough and he needs to conquer challenges in a new environment before retiring. Barcelona currently can hardly help Messi achieve more great successes in the European arena. A "swallow" like Messi now probably does not have enough strength to carry the Catalan army that has become exhausted.

Leaving now is a bit late, but better late than never, Messi should leave Barcelona to have a chance at the 2022 World Cup. Messi needs a new environment to help him escape his current way of thinking about playing football. Messi needs a team that does not depend too much on him, Messi needs a place where he can be a leader but does not necessarily have to do both scoring and supporting his teammates like he does at Barcelona.
