Three young men decided to use a boat to look for rosewood roots in the Thac Mo hydroelectric lake, but unfortunately the boat capsized and one person went missing because he couldn't swim.
On September 29, Mr. Dao Huy Trung, Chief of Police of Bom Bo Commune, Bu Dang District, Binh Phuoc Province confirmed that a boat capsized in the area, leaving one young man missing and two others fortunately escaping.
According to initial information, at around 3:00 p.m. on September 28, three young men, including Nguyen Huu Thang (born in 1998), living in Phuoc Son village; Nguyen Van Dat (born in 1991), living in Binh Duc 2 village, Duc Hanh commune, Bu Gia Map district; and Vo Duc Ninh (born in 1993), living in village 7, Bom Bo commune, Bu Dang district, invited each other to use a boat to go find rosewood roots in the Thac Mo hydroelectric reservoir.

At about 7:00 p.m. the same day, on the way back, when reaching village 7, Bom Bo commune, the boat capsized.
Because they knew how to swim, Dat and Ninh were able to swim to shore, but Thang, who didn't know how to swim, sank into the water and went missing.
As of noon on September 29, Bom Bo commune authorities, local people and relatives were still trying to find the victim.
Also at Thac Mo Hydropower Reservoir, on September 20, after returning from school, a group of 6 9th grade students from Ly Thuong Kiet Secondary School (in Phu Van Commune, Bu Gia Map District) took their family's boat to the Thac Mo Hydropower Reservoir to play and had an accident that resulted in 3 students drowning.
In recent years, Binh Phuoc authorities have continuously warned about drowning in the Thac Mo hydroelectric reservoir area, Bu Gia Map and Bu Dang districts and Phuoc Long town./.
