According to the Dien Chau District Livestock and Veterinary Station, on the afternoon of June 4th, the Regional Veterinary Sub-Department III confirmed that samples from sick pigs in Dien Binh commune tested positive for African swine fever.
Accordingly, on June 4th, African swine fever outbreaks occurred at the farms of Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong in Hamlet 3 and Ms. Vo Thi Linh in Hamlet 4. 24 pigs, weighing 567 kg, had to be culled.

The commune has implemented measures to prevent and control African swine fever: culling infected pigs, establishing three quarantine checkpoints, spraying chemicals in public areas, and supplying lime powder to farmers to sprinkle in their barns.
As of June 6th, Dien Chau district has 18 communes experiencing outbreaks of African swine fever, accounting for 46% of the total number of communes. These communes include: Dien Van, Dien Kim, Dien Thai, Dien Quang, Dien Bich, Dien Xuan, Dien Doai, Dien Hong, Dien Hanh, Dien My, Dien Truong, Dien Yen, Dien Loc, Dien Nguyen, Dien Dong, Dien Phu, Dien Ngoc, and Dien Binh, affecting 54 villages and hamlets, 107 households, with a total of 720 pigs having to be culled, weighing a total of 32,678 kg.
