Foot-and-mouth disease threatens livestock in Ky Son
(Baonghean.vn) - In just a few days, foot-and-mouth disease broke out and spread rapidly, infecting more than 170 buffaloes and cows in several villages in Ky Son.
According to information from the management board of Xa Long, Phia Khoang, Huoi Lau, Khe Nap villages of Bao Nam commune (Ky Son district), in the past 10 days, foot and mouth disease has appeared in buffalo and cows in these villages.

Mr. Ven Pho Hoa in Huoi Lau village said that for a long time, people have kept the habit of grazing on the fields, but a few days ago, the buffaloes and cows in the village suddenly started foaming at the mouth, their hair stood on end and they stopped eating. After checking, we found that the cattle had mouth sores and their hooves were falling off.
According to estimates, Xa Long village has over 70 buffaloes and cows, Phia Khoang has 50 buffaloes and cows, and Huoi Lau has more than 50 buffaloes and cows infected with the disease.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Hieu - Head of the Ky Son District Veterinary Station said: Currently, we have also grasped the situation and provided vaccines and disinfectants to the commune. Along with that, we have arranged for staff to stay close to the area, isolate the area, and prevent the disease from spreading.
