African swine fever recurs in Do Luong
(Baonghean.vn) - As of March 11, African swine fever has recurred in Luu Son, Dai Son, and Hien Son communes of Do Luong district. Previously, in February 2021, the epidemic also occurred in a number of communes such as Xuan Son, Hoa Son, Bac Son, and Minh Son.
On the morning of March 11, the herd of three sows belonging to Mr. Le Dac Dao's family in Luu Tho hamlet, Luu Son commune, Do Luong district continued to refuse to eat. Mr. Dao said that the pigs had stopped eating since March 10. His family is suspecting that the pigs are still infected.African swine feverBecause 3 days before, African swine fever had occurred in his family's pigs and 2 other households in the village. The number of pigs destroyed included 2 sows with a total weight of 313kg, 1 porker weighing 40kg.

In addition to Luu Tho hamlet, Luu Son commune, in hamlet 4, Dai Son commune, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha's family had 8 pigs weighing a total of 216 kg infected with the disease. In Van Tho hamlet, Hien Son commune, Mr. Nguyen Van Trong's family had a sow weighing 85 kg also infected with African swine fever.

Faced with the complicated situation of African swine fever recurrence, Do Luong district is making efforts to contain and contain the epidemic.
Mr. Le Van Chien - Deputy Director of the Do Luong District Agricultural Service Center said: “We have advised the District People's Committee to issue Official Dispatches on disease prevention, including instructions on State management measures and techniques to help the People's Committees of communes apply them to the reality of each locality. We also recommend that people apply biosafety in livestock farming, fully vaccinate, and regularly disinfect barns. Livestock waste must be collected and not released into the environment. When livestock and poultry show signs of suspected infection, the Commune People's Committee must be notified. Implement the 3 no's well: do not hide the epidemic, do not sell livestock and do not dump dead livestock and poultry into the environment".
