African swine fever recurs in Quynh Luu
(Baonghean.vn) - After a long period of controlling the outbreak, African swine fever has recurred in Quynh Bang commune (Quynh Luu). Currently, the district authorities are inspecting and directing the work of disease prevention.
On the morning of March 9, Mr. Tran Minh Quan - Deputy Director of the Agricultural Service Center of Quynh Luu district said that the unit had just taken samples of 3 sick pigs in Quynh Bang commune and sent them for testing, all of which were positive.African swine feverThe unit is directing veterinary officers in charge of the area to guide livestock farmers in disease prevention and control, to prevent outbreaks and spread.

Accordingly, on March 5, the District Agricultural Service Center received a report that three households, namely Ho Quoc Hoang, Hoang Van Dong, and Ho Dang Nen, all in Quynh Bang commune, had reported the death of pigs. Immediately afterward, officers from the District Agricultural Service Center went to the three households to collectspecimensend for testing
By the morning of March 7, the results of the samples taken from the sick pigs were positive for African swine fever. After that, the authorities and local governments destroyed 21 pigs (including 7 sows, 4 pigs and 10 piglets) raised in the 3 households above.
On March 8, the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district issued a decision to announce African swine fever in Quynh Bang commune.

To control the epidemic,Quynh Luu districtDirect the People's Committee of Quynh Bang commune to do a good job of quarantine, spreading lime powder on 14 routes in and out of the commune; set up 4 quarantine checkpoints on main roads with lime spread and disinfectant spray. Strictly prohibit the buying, selling, and transporting of pigs in and out of the area; farmers proactively take disease prevention measures according to the recommendations of veterinary agencies.
