Elysium Space, a funeral company based in San Francisco, USA, on May 17 revealed its plan to send the ashes of the deceased into Earth's orbit using a Falcon 9 rocket belonging to the SpaceX corporation of technology billionaire Elon Musk, CNBC reported yesterday.
With a starting registration price of $2,490, mEach customer will receive a specialized device to store their loved one's ashes before sending them back to the company. A Falcon 9 rocket will carry the spacecraft containing the device into orbit.
The spacecraft containing the ashes of the deceased will orbit for two years.Family and friends of the deceased can track the spacecraft's journey using an application running on both iOS and Android operating systems.
