The prolonged heat waves have helped An Hoa salt farmers produce salt with higher output than previous years. Up to this point, the commune has produced about 9,000 tons of salt. Although the salt price was not high at the beginning of the season, the salt has now been purchased by traders at an increase from 1,200 VND to 1,600 VND/kg, which is a good sign for salt farmers.

Ms. Ho Thi Thuy in Tan Thang village, An Hoa commune quickly wiped the sweat from her face and shared: "Salt making only depends on 3 months of sunshine, the stronger the sunshine, the higher the salt yield, so we take advantage of these sunny days to go to the fields to race against the weather to produce and earn more income for our family."
Thanks to the increase in salt prices, taking advantage of the prolonged sunny weather, salt farmers in Quynh Nghia and Quynh Thuan communes are actively plowing the land, drying the soil, and pouring filtered water into drying boxes... The current peak heat not only helps households achieve double the yield but also achieve the best quality salt.
According to Ms. Ho Thi Loi, a salt farmer in Quynh Nghia commune, her family usually makes nearly 100 kg of salt, but these past few days the weather has been very sunny so the salt crystallizes faster, resulting in a salt yield of over 200 kg.
