List of superstars who missed the EURO due to ridiculous reasons.
History and the present have shown that many superstars have had to stay home and watch the EUROs for non-professional reasons. Ludovic Giuly: Fired for daring to flirt with the boss's wife.

It turns out Giuly was eliminated for daring to flirt with Estelle. Who is Estelle? She's a beautiful, brilliant sports reporter and the famous host of the show 100% Foot.
A player flirting with a reporter is a minor issue, but when that reporter is the wife of the current national team coach, it becomes a big deal. Therefore, Giuly, despite being a great footballer, having to stay home is perfectly understandable.
Edgar Davids: Suffering because of "electrical wires"
At EURO 1996, the Netherlands arrived in England with high hopes, boasting the Ajax Amsterdam squad that was dominating Europe with its total footballing style. However, when the word "unity" became vague, and Edgar Davids boldly articulated it along with the concept of "electrical wires" (separating black players of Surinamese origin from white players), he was immediately sent home despite having arrived in England.
Rio Ferdinand: Because I lost you
Regardless, England manager Roy Hodgson refused to call up veteran defender Rio Ferdinand. However, Ferdinand was excluded from the EUROs for a very mundane reason: he no longer had a psychological partnership with John Terry.
