Russian hackers
After the US election, when it became clear that the Democratic Party would have to cede the Oval Office to Republican candidate Donald Trump, the US accused Russia of interfering in the election process. Specifically, hacker attacks on computer networks and the Democratic Party, hacking into the email account of former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Ghost military force
The US State Department also has no evidence that Russia is supporting militias in eastern Ukraine. However, the US government has claimed throughout the year that Moscow has not implemented the Minsk agreements signed in 2014.
Russian brutality in Syria
Most of Washington's accusations against Moscow relate to Russia's actions in Syria. For example, in September, the US permanent representative to the United Nations, Samantha Power, said at an emergency meeting of the Security Council that Russia "launched a large-scale operation in eastern Aleppo, which resulted in the deaths of 139 people."
From real war to information war
The US also accused the RT TV channel and the Sputnik news agency. Some US politicians said that reporters from the two Russian media agencies prevented the fair presidential election because they supported the Republican candidate.
