(Baonghean.vn) - On January 15, Nghe An Provincial Police successfully carried out Project 1401B, destroying a large-scale gambling den, temporarily detaining 74 subjects and more than 500 million VND in cash. Previously, in 2017, many large-scale gambling cases took place in Nghe An province.

On October 15, 2017, Anh Son District Police arrested Nguyen Van Trong (born in 1974, residing in Phuc Son Village 4, Anh Son District) in the act of gambling by recording lottery numbers. Expanding the investigation, the authorities continued to arrest Nguyen Anh Tho (born in 1981, residing in Block 6B, Anh Son Town), the ringleader, and other big gamblers and agents. A total of 11 people were arrested by the police. Searching the suspects' residences, the police seized many related documents.

(Baonghean.vn) - The mobile police surrounded the gang, the subjects fiercely resisted in an attempt to escape, but the officers and soldiers captured 74 subjects and more than 500 million VND in cash.
Initially, the investigation agency determined that the amount of money involved in the lottery on the day the case was solved was more than 300 million VND. During the 2-week period, it is estimated that the amount of money the subjects used to play the lottery was nearly 5 billion VND.

On October 18, 2017, the City Police prosecuted Phan Thi Thanh Giang (29 years old), Tran Thi Huong (42 years old), Hoang Thi Ngan (29 years old), all residing in Vinh City, and Nguyen Thi Phuong (65 years old), residing in Nghi Xuan District, Ha Tinh to investigate gambling.
Also involved in the case are Tran Thi Dung (57 years old, living in Vinh city) and Tran Dinh Huong (43 years old, living in Hung Nguyen district) who are being investigated for the same behavior.
According to records, since June 2017, Vinh City Police discovered a large-scale lottery gambling ring. The group's modus operandi was to use smartphones to receive and transmit information from agents to the ringleaders. After recovering data from the suspects' phones, Vinh City Police had sufficient grounds to determine that from the end of May 2017 until the time of its destruction, the ring had transacted gambling money worth more than 30 billion VND.

At around 6:00 p.m. on December 25, 2017, Do Luong District Police arrested and urgently searched the house of Hoang Van Tu (born in 1985, residing in Hamlet 3, Thai Son Commune, Do Luong), the subject who gambled in the form of lottery with Vo Thi Van. The seized evidence included 48,450,000 VND, 6 mobile phones, 12 lottery cables, and 10 lottery notebooks.
On December 26, the police force continued to arrest and urgently search Dao Cong Son (born in 1972, residing in Hamlet 2, Tan Son Commune); Dao Xuat Thai (born in 1979, residing in Hamlet 8, Tan Son Commune); Thai Khac Nam (born in 1968, residing in Hamlet 2, Thinh Son Commune); Nguyen Thi Thu (born in 1987, residing in Hamlet 2, Dong Son Commune); Nguyen Thi Lien (born in 1958, residing in Block 3, Do Luong Town) for gambling in the form of lottery tickets.
The police also summoned Nguyen Thi Huong (born in 1979, residing in Yen Huong, Yen Son); Dau Van Hoi (born in 1959, residing in Hamlet 7, Dong Son Commune) to clarify the gambling behavior. The total evidence seized in the case included 185 million VND and 9 mobile phones.
4. Arrested 13 gambling subjects, collected more than 82 million VND in Tan Ky

On May 25, 2017, the Special Task Force (Tan Ky District Police) organized a case investigation and caught 13 subjects red-handed gambling at Tran Van Tuan's house (Bich Thai hamlet, Nghia Thai commune), including: Duong Minh Binh (born in 1968) and Dang Minh Cuong (born in 1968), residing in Thai Hoa town; Nguyen Xuan Vuong (born in 1967), residing in Nghia Dan district; and 10 other subjects including: Nguyen Van Tan (born in 1969), Vu Van Tan (born in 1973), Hoang Van Nam (born in 1979), Cao Dinh Xo (born in 1962), Nguyen Van Nhu (born in 1986), Nguyen Duc Trung (born in 1984), Tran Van Chin (born in 1978), Tran Van Tuan (born in 1960), Nguyen Dinh Thong (born in 1976), Tran Van Huong (born in 1965) all residing in Nghia Thai commune, Tan Ky district.
The seized exhibits include: 82.7 million VND in cash, 01 set of dishes, 04 dice and some other exhibits. Currently, the District Police are investigating and clarifying and preparing a case to handle the subjects according to the provisions of law.
5. Breaking up a large football betting ring worth 900 billion VND

On the morning of March 29, 2017, hundreds of officers and soldiers of C50 and PC46, along with other functional units, raided and urgently searched the private homes of three subjects, including: Tran The Hung (born in 1979), residing in Quang Trung ward, Le Hong Trung (born in 1987), Ben Thuy ward) and Ngo Minh An (born in 1970), Trung Do ward (both in Vinh city) for gambling in the form of online football betting.
During the search, the police seized two laptops and five mobile phones, which contained a lot of data related to the online football betting organization led by Tran The Hung. The total amount of bets was 22,894,360 points (each point is equivalent to 40,000 VND), equivalent to 900 billion VND, with a total of 38,449 gambling sessions.
