(Baonghean.vn) - In recent days, consumers have been confused by the incident of 12 "dirty" gasoline stores in Nghe An being discovered and punished by authorities. Before that, a series of fake gasoline cases were exposed.

1. Large petrol theft and adulteration ring in Ho Chi Minh City

In March 2017, the Criminal Police Department (C45) - Ministry of Public Security caught and destroyed a ring of petrol thieves who took it to sell at the warehouse of Quang Duc Petroleum Company located on Dao Tri Street, Phu Thuan Ward, District 7 (Ho Chi Minh City). More dangerously, the tanker drivers mixed impurities into the tanks to compensate for the amount of petrol and oil they stole and then delivered it to the gas stations. This action caused the risk of fire and explosion, damaging the vehicle's engine.

2. Poor quality gasoline in Lam Dong

In early October 2017, the Mobile Market Management Team (Lam Dong Market Management Department) coordinated with the Police Department for Investigation of Economic and Official Order Crimes (PC46, Lam Dong Provincial Police), and the Lam Dong Department of Standards, Metrology and Quality to conduct a surprise inspection of Mai Hoa Company Limited (located at 705 QL20, Lien Nghia town, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province), and discovered that Ron 92 and Ron 95 gasoline did not comply with the corresponding technical regulations.

The inspection team took 1 sample of RON 92 gasoline and 1 sample of RON 95 gasoline for quality testing. The results showed that both gasoline samples did not meet the corresponding technical standards (according to Decree No. 80/2013/ND-CP of the Government). For the above violation, Mai Hoa Company Limited was fined 1.354 billion VND.

3.Selling gasoline that does not meet standards in Long An

On June 1, 2017, the Market Management Force of Long An province inspected three petroleum trading enterprises and discovered that the above petroleum stations were selling gasoline that did not comply with national technical regulations.

Accordingly, the People's Committee of Long An province signed a decision to administratively sanction 3 gas stations in Kien Tuong town, Ben Luc district and Duc Hoa district for violating the sale of Ron 95-II and Ron 95-III gasoline that does not comply with national technical regulations, with a total fine of 890 million VND.

4.Poor quality gasoline business in Hue

On May 30, 2017, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province Nguyen Van Cao signed a decision to fine Phuc Vinh Petroleum Store One Member Co., Ltd. VND 140,421 million for selling RON 92 gasoline with quality that does not comply with national technical regulations.

Through inspection, the authorities discovered that Phuc Vinh Company sold 3,960 liters of RON 92 gasoline with quality that did not meet standards.

5. Selling 9,000 liters of "fake" gasoline in Hung Yen

On the afternoon of April 6, the Steering Committee for Anti-Smuggling, Trade Fraud and Counterfeit Goods (Committee 389) of Hung Yen province sent Report No. 17/BC-VPTT to the National Committee 389 with initial investigation information on the case of 9,000 liters of gasoline suspected to be aviation fuel.

The test results showed that the lead content was very high (0.8651 grams/liter). Along with that, the octane number (also known as RON) - engine detonation value was about 10%. The octane number and lead content in this liquid did not meet the requirements for the technical regulations of unleaded gasoline./.
