Although the Vietnamese automobile market has had many fluctuations in the past 6 months, the main car lines of these manufacturers have more or less maintained good performance to maintain the role of "locomotive" for the brand.

VinFast Fadil leads segment A

In the first 6 months of the year, Fadil's sales were 9,566 cars. This is also the only car model in the A-segment in this ranking, when the Grand i10 disappeared. The total number of Fadil cars sold in the first half of the year accounted for about 65% of the total sales of the Vietnamese car company (14,695 cars).

With attractive monthly discount policies, plus positive reviews from consumers, and adequate amenities, VinFast Fadil quickly gains the trust of domestic consumers.

Since the news that VinFast will discontinue 3 gasoline models, Fadil's sales have been significantly affected. However, the attractive price and many incentives help Fadil to firmly maintain its top position.

VinFast Fadil is distributed in 3 versions: Standard, Advanced and Premium. The price of this car model is being offered by VinFast as 352.5 million, 383.1 million and 419.1 million VND.

Mitsubishi Xpander faces pressure from competitors

In recent years, Mitsubishi Xpander has been the best-selling popular MPV model under 1 billion VND. This has greatly contributed to changing Mitsubishi's image on the car market share charts in Vietnam.

Direct pressure from two new competitors, Toyota Avanza Premio and Toyota Veloz Cross, seems not to be enough to dethrone Xpander in the segment.

Although June sales of this MPV model only reached 584 vehicles (down nearly 1,500 vehicles compared to the previous month), the cumulative sales in the first 6 months of the year were 9,084 vehicles and this is also the first MPV model to regularly maintain a high ranking in the rankings.

This also helps Xpander create a safe distance with Toyota Avanza and Veloz (5,320 units), Suzuki XL7 (3,666 units), Toyota Innova (1,196 units), Suzuki Ertiga (607 units).

Currently, the new version of Mitsubishi Xpander is being sold in 3 versions: MT, AT and AT Premium. The selling prices are 555 million, 588 million and 648 million VND respectively.

King of pickup trucks, Ford Ranger affirms its position

The pickup truck segment in Vietnam in the first half of 2022 recorded a total of 9,778 vehicles delivered to customers, down 11.4% compared to the same period last year (11,028 vehicles). In the first 6 months of the year, Ford sold 6,433 Rangers out of a total of 9,697 vehicles sold on the market, equivalent to 66.3%.

Thereby, continuing to affirm the leading position and leaving behind the remaining competitors. Currently, Ford Ranger is being sold in 4 versions, with prices ranging from 628-937 million VND, in addition there is Ranger Raptor sold for 1.202 billion VND.

Xl7 "golden goose" for Suzuki

At the end of the first 6 months of the year, Suzuki Vietnam recorded XL7 sales of 3,666 units. This number accounts for 78.1% of the total 4,692 Suzuki cars delivered to customers. It can be seen that XL7 sales far exceed its "brother" models Ertiga (607 units), Swift (406 units) and Ciaz (13 units).

Notably, Suzuki XL7 unexpectedly held the top position in the monthly MPV sales chart, surpassing Mitsubishi Xpander (584 units) and Kia Carnival (665 units).

This is considered a bright spot of the XL7 because if calculated cumulatively in the first 6 months of the year, this model's sales are not half that of its competitor Mitsubishi.

Suzuki XL7 is being sold at a price of 599.9-639.9 million VND depending on the version. This model is being promoted by Suzuki Vietnam with a 300-liter fuel coupon, equivalent to 10 million VND.
