(Baonghean.vn) - The 2020 V.League has only returned for 2 rounds, but the professional national championship has brought a hot atmosphere to domestic football. In particular, the 4th round witnessed interesting surprises from the lower-ranked teams.

"Broken field" Ha Tinh

Round 4 of V.League 2020 recorded a total of 50,500 spectators coming to the stadium, reaching an average of 7,214 people/match. By round 4, this number had increased significantly, with 56,700 spectators, an average of 8,100 people/match. Of which, Ha Tinh Stadium, where the match between Hong Linh Ha Tinh and Hanoi took place. The attraction of the defending champion Hanoi's star cast combined with the impressive performance of the home team in recent times has made Ha Tinh Stadium welcome more than 20,000 spectators, although the initial expectation of the Ha Tinh Stadium Organizing Committee was only 15,000 spectators.

Because the number of spectators at the stadium exceeded the expectation, the match was interrupted for more than 20 minutes. Fortunately, the match ended without any unfortunate incidents. From a purely football perspective, this can be considered a positive signal for football, because the vibrant atmosphere at Ha Tinh Stadium is evidence of the strong attraction of Vietnam's professional football tournament.

Not only Ha Tinh Stadium, round 4 also witnessed many stadiums welcoming a significant number of spectators, such as Pleiku Stadium (9,000 spectators watching the HAGL - Duoc Nam Ha Nam Dinh match), Thanh Hoa Stadium (7,000 spectators watching the Thanh Hoa - SLNA match), and Thong Nhat Stadium (8,000 spectators watching the derby between Ho Chi Minh City and Saigon).

The underclass “rises”

Round 4 saw the rise of teams that had a bad start to the season. The biggest surprise in this round was SHB Da Nang FC winning 6-1 against Quang Nam FC. This was the first victory for coach Le Huynh Duc and his team after a series of bad matches and all losses.

In addition, the match between B. Binh Duong and Hai Phong ended with a quick 5-0 victory for the home team. Or the fact that rookie Hong Linh Ha Tinh held defending champion Hanoi to a 1-1 draw thanks to a precious goal by striker Pham Tuan Hai is also proof that the gap between V.League teams is not too big and there are still surprises. In this round, even Thanh Hoa got their first point, while Nam Dinh Club had difficulty when they lost 0-1 on HAGL's field.

The team considered the strangest in V.League 2020 so far is SLNA. The Nghe An team has not conceded a goal after 4 matches despite the absence of captain Hoang Van Khanh. However, SLNA has only scored 2 goals. Meanwhile, Hanoi Club, although not in the top group, has scored 9 goals and is considered the strongest attack in V.League 2020. The team with the worst defense after 4 rounds is Quang Nam with 11 goals conceded.

The players are silent

The fourth round witnessed matches with low performance from domestic strikers such as Quang Hai, Duc Chinh, Van Duc and Van Toan, Cong Phuong. Two rare cases to score in the last round were striker Tien Linh of B. Binh Duong and midfielder Do Hung Dung with a goal against Ha Tinh.

This round continues to witness the rising new face Ho Khac Ngoc. The player from Nghe An has scored 2 goals so far, in which the free kick to equalize 1-1 and bring a valuable point in the match against Than Quang Ninh at Hang Day Stadium is also a highlight of the round.

Watching the matches in round 4, coach Park Hang-seo has reason to worry because the list of top scorers all belong to foreign players. Only striker Nguyen Xuan Nam has scored 3 goals but he has stopped at this number after round 4.

The race on the V.League 2020 rankings is taking place very fiercely when there are 3 teams Saigon, Viettel and SLNA sharing the top position with the same number of points of 8, there are 4 teams right behind, from 7th to 4th with 7 points and the gap from the number 1 position to the number 8 position is only 3 points, equivalent to a win. Meanwhile, at the bottom of the rankings, the teams' chances of escaping are still equal because the difference in points between them is also limited to a win.
