North Korean companies or joint ventures in China will be closed within 120 days of the latest sanctions against Pyongyang adopted by the United Nations Security Council on September 12, the Ministry of Commerce said in a statement.

Chinese foreign joint ventures with North Korean entities or individuals will also be closed, according to a notice on the ministry's website.

The United Nations Security Council unanimously approved tougher sanctions on North Korea on September 12, banning its textile exports and restricting fuel supplies after Pyongyang conducted its sixth nuclear test.

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is expected to visit Beijing this weekend to hold talks with China's top diplomat, Yang Jiechi, and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
