Dien Chau: Nearly 600 people participate in blood donation festival

(Baonghean.vn) - The 16th voluntary blood donation festival of Dien Chau district was held on the morning of April 2, attracting the participation of nearly 600 people.

This is the second time Dien Chau district has organized a blood donation festival in 2017. The festival attracted nearly 600 cadres, teachers, union members, youth and people from 8 communes in the middle of the district, 25 schools and 4 agencies and units to participate. With the spirit of voluntary blood donation to save lives, this time, Dien Chau district collected 322 units of blood.

Notably, in previous years, Dien Chau district organized 3 blood donation campaigns, but due to the large number of participants, in 2017, the district organized 5 campaigns, starting from March to October. However, through 2 campaigns, the target was exceeded with more than 1,600 participants and 872 units of blood were collected.

According to the plan, in 2017, Dien Chau district strives to mobilize 4,000 people to donate 2,000 units of blood, an increase of 300 units compared to 2016.
