Dien Chau clears encroaching solid structures on National Highway 1A

Dien Thanh is the first commune to launch a campaign to clear solid structures along National Highway 1A. In Hamlet 9, along National Highway 1A, there are 32 households subject to clearance along the traffic corridor, including 12 houses with an area of ​​60m2 or more.² -144m², remaining from 30m²up to 60m².

Most of the kiosks and factories subject to clearance were solidly built, including two-story houses worth hundreds of millions of dong, so the clearance encountered many difficulties. However, due to prior propaganda and mobilization, along with resolute direction and ensuring fairness, the families all complied with the clearance and worked with the authorities to dismantle the structures.

With a force of more than 40 people including district police, Border Guard Station, Dien Thanh commune government and many machines and equipment, within only 5 days (from January 1 to 15), the clearance of 32 houses, kiosks, and factories in hamlet 9, Dien Thanh commune was completed.

Mr. Phan Nhat Thanh - Secretary of the Dien Thanh Commune Party Committee said: Thanks to good mobilization work, there were no cases of resistance, and people also asked the clearance committee to help dismantle the project. Along with clearing households encroaching on the corridor on National Highway 1A, we continued to clear 20 households on National Highway 7A.

In Dien Ky commune, with the goal of reducing 5-10% of road and railway traffic accidents compared to 2017, the commune focuses on clearing violations of traffic safety corridors;Implement measures such as propaganda, mobilization, signing commitments, and enforcement against cases of non-voluntary demolition and re-encroachment.

Previously, from October to December 2017, Dien Ky focused on clearing the corridor on National Highway 1A, a 2,200m section from the Commune People's Committee to Bara Dien Thuy; cleared more than 100 tents, booths, surrounding walls and hundreds of trees and billboards.

Currently, Dien Ky still has 3.5km of National Highway 1A and 7B that has not been cleared.Therefore, after launching the traffic safety campaign, the commune is continuing to collect statistics, make records, draw lines, and mobilize households to voluntarily dismantle them.

According to Mr. Ngo Van Ty - Vice Chairman of Dien Ky Commune People's Committee, the commune is currently focusing on inspecting, reviewing, and resolutely preventing re-encroachment on cleared roads. Along with that, propaganda and mobilization are being carried out on the loudspeaker system, including direct meetings with each household to encourage people to voluntarily dismantle. From now until Tet, we will resolutely launch a campaign to restore clear roads and sidewalks, ensuring traffic safety in the commune.
